damn shame there's no way to get "free porn" on the web.

I can't imagine anyone paying to use Twitter to watch/promote porn when there are so many other places to do that. Seems like a terrible format for porn anyway. "oh ya know where I should sell my porn? That place where you can't  upload videos that are longer than 2 minutes and you can't easily search/organize posts other than chronologically!" I'm sure pornstars and perverts will be lining up to shell out money for that kind of fantastic content.

He promised flying cars, high speed transit lines and men on mars. We got shoddy self driving cars that tend to hit other cars, a few kids with names that sound like Daft Punk songs, and a somehow shittier Twitter.

You guys really go to the mat the oddest people sometimes

i think @BFit may be sipping a little too much shine up in his tree stand.

I'm old and wise now, I save the shine for the night before the hunt

But you can't tell me you don't see similarities in people wanting the rich to "pay their fair share" and a website using the rich to keep itself a float by charging them a small fee for a luxury

Paying for verification is dumb, but paying for extra privileges like posts showing in priority or increased content limits is just paying for additional features, has nothing to do with "free speech" since using Twitter will still be free. It's like companies paying for SEO to show up higher in Google results, FB or Instagram sponsored posts, etc.

His comments about moderation & free public square were against bias in moderation.

None of it ever had anything to do with free speech since it’s a private company.  But if we’re holding to the stupid standards that Republicans did for years than it’s as much of a violation of free speech as anything else.

Agree on the first sentence, as we've said many times.

The criticisms are silly: $8 for extra privileges while access to the site remains free, isn't against free speech.

It’s prioritizing some speech over others, which, again, if we’re holding them to the insanely stupid standards Republicans beat the drum on for a decade, it’s also a violation of free speech.

No one is actually arguing it's against "free speech".  We're making fun of the fact that Elon is promising to restore free speech, then pulls goofy crap like this. Which inarguably makes speech less "free" on the platform.

He's a narcissistic autist who made a bad deal in a fit of self-obsessed rage and is now trying to salvage a profit out of it.  It's not that deep

The great purge is to begin today.  Employees are suing that they weren’t give enough notice.  Is this a contractual issue ?  Didn’t think Companies need to give notice to layoff/fire their employees.
