The fact you invoke strawmen is funny. If I am wrong, tell me where - all I see is echo chamber huffing and puiffing that someone move your cheese.  BTW, I think Musk is massive dope who sells expensive cars to gullible people with too much money or ego issues., that love the status symbol of driving a Tesla and feeling like they are helping the world.  Money for old rope, but some people can't get enough of being seen in Tesla.

Who knows.  But when you become more politically impartial, you maximise the advertiser exposure to different groups and widen the user base and companies that may want to advertise - if you lose 100,000 user of POV x, but then get 250,000 of users of various backgrounds a, b, c, what is better for the company bottom line?  The "chaos" is what occurs when someone buys/takes over an underperforming company, with a questionable culture and realigns costs to its income.  I've worked in companies (larger and same size to Twitter) who have had similar "chaoses" and it was a very precise thing, regardless of how it looks outside.  It wasn't pleasant to work in, but you do appreciate how many pointless jobs that don't add much value,

Ultimately, if content moderation standards and consistency are maintained (as they have been right?), and user growth is maintained/stabilised, will an advertiser now choose to spend their budget there, or lower usage platforms like Truth, Mastodon, Hive, etc or go to more traditional outlets?  Musk paid waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to much for Twitter and stupidly locked himself in to the price, so is trying to save his own money and rep by trying to make Twitter more agnostic in terms of politics, etc.  It's a smart call

Lol.

I mean, you literally said that somebody tried to claim advertisers would do longer do business with Twitter because kiddie porn was now being blocked. That's Kz level of stupidity.

It's obvious by now that you're not cut out for this. Maybe take a week off, hone your craft, and come back when you're ready to troll with something a bit edgier like denying the results of an election or that vaccines are killing people.

Big increase in "promoted" posts on the feed tonight as I try to check in on the games. Biggest themes being big boobs, the Lord, historical photos, right wing anti-media truthers, and PG-13 cartoon drawings that I'm like 60% sure are just links to furry porn sites.

That's kinda the whole point though. It's one thing to buy Twitter and make it "politically agnostic." It's another thing to buy Twitter and tell people to vote republican, or talk about how the shooting in Ferguson (from years ago) was "made up". If he wants to make Twitter politically agnostic, neither left nor right, ideally Musk would shut up, yes? Because, again...imagine yourself as a CMO of a large brand, is Twitter 2.0 bringing calm and stability to your marketing? Or are you just attaching your brand's name to Elon and his beliefs?

He said vote Republican so that not one party would be in overall control.  Not vote MAGA or whatever else some presume it was.  The Tweet was very clear

Did I?  It would make companies more likely to advertise as they have taken child safety issues seriously unlike the previous regime who just let it proliferate.

What would you do to make Twitter profitable? I am genuinely curious how you'd turn around a business that was losing $ms a week - you complain about Musk and his chaos but what was the alternative solution? Hopes and prayers?

I'll give you a week and if it's good, you can contact Elon on Twitter and run through it with him. Lol

No, he said vote Republican because he's butthurt that he got caught up in the "Me too" movement. His "reason" was thinly veiled. We all know this has been one long temper tantrum against the left. I'm here for it though. Has been incredibly entertaining.

Yes, and it was really stupid. I just went back to read it again, and somehow it was even dumber than I remembered it. You're trying way too hard to defend Musk, it's starting to get a little creepy, in fact.

At this point I think Musk is just hoping to sell about 2 billion copies of a book called something like 'Cancelled: How the Woke Mob cost me a $44Billion dollar business' to make his money back.

The reason Twitter has content moderation and bans in the first place is because Jack Dorsey couldn't sell big advertisers space on a site where their products might appear in threads of holocaust denial and racial incitement, the idea that Musk might make Twitter profitable on the back of bringing all those accounts back is pie in the sky nonsense, Musk isn't doing anything clever, he's being led by the nose by the only side of the argument that's tickling his belly and calling him smart rather than calling him a gigantic horses ass.

So how would you reverse Musk's changes in Twitter and make it a profitable venture?  I am genuinely curious (you can get others to help too if you'd like), but I'm not asking for a detailed business plan; just something you think even the dumbest person can understand.  I'll wait for your explanation - quite looking forward to this now.

Will check back next week on how you are getting on 👍

You're deflecting from the main issue I took with your post, which are all the strawmen you keep tossing out to defend Musk at all costs  The worst of which was when you tried to imply there was a presumption that removal of kiddie porn would scare away advertisers. Honestly, that you still stand by such a laughably idiotic hot take says it all really, but I'll humor you one last time

So what would I do differently? Well for starters, one thing I would do would be to not alienate advertisers with absolutely and predictably awful ideas like undercutting the entire purpose of verification inevitably leading to mass confusion that was quickly taken advantage of, then trolling the leaders of a country being slaughtered after an unjust invasion by their neighbors, or avoiding making racially charged statements that forces me to delete it, or maybe just not firing or prompting resignations of 90% of the staff during a period of transition when knowledge transfer is most critical.

Will these things make Twitter profitable? I have no idea but I bet it wouldn't lead to advertisers actively pulling out and putting revenue streams at serious risk when stability is needed more than anything.

Taking a successful company and making it into a right-wing propaganda outlet isn’t going to generate the amount of success he thinks it is.   The $8 a month thing isn’t going to work out either.

Anything right of it's left wing evolution is "right-wing". The twitter universe itself was merely an echo chamber one with a lot red ink at that.

If it fails so what? It was heading there anyway.

He doesn't understand how software development works, doesn't understand what a strawman is, doesn't understand what thinly veiled means, etc. Poor lad sure is struggling to keep up.

It might, but he'd have to lurch far right enough to essentially become the fox news of social media. The problem with that strategy, of course, is finding enough talent in the tech industry that'd be willing to work for a company like that. I wish him luck.

Oh look! Judgement by an over weight, pedophile. 👌

JFC. Twitter had positive EBITDA before Musk acquired it. The net loss was due to non-cash factors like stock based comp. It generated operating cash flow, and was expected todo about 1 billion of EBITDA. Musk killed it with massive interest expense (over 1 billion) and massively lowering EBITDA by losing advertisers.

Stop asking how to make Twitter cash flow positive. It was before Musk.

Succeed or fail, who cares? The gate keepers of lunacy were more than willing to cash out.

If it's collapse scatters the lunatics to the corners of the internet so much the better. Elon will just write off the losses and move on. So will everyone else.
