Putting aside one’s stance on the issue, we should all agree that it is egregious and dangerous that this was leaked. Draft opinions should remain private and debated among the justices. Not every cas

I can't wait to see you break your hips pivoting to something else even more stupid when Red States start limiting contraceptives.

But let's take it at face value.  Contraceptives are simply not fail safe.  Women's contraceptives have all kinds of problems.  For women who want to be sexually active from 16-35 and then have a baby when they are economically and professionally stable, the pill or implant is a double edged option because using it all your life will affect your ability to have one later.  Don't even get me started on the diaphram, my wife got the Mirena Crash so bad we thought she had ALS.  Men + condoms + casual sex is a recipe for disaster.

Sexual liberation and abortions are wedded partners, you can't have one without the other, at least not yet, because modern contraceptives are still imperfect in many ways.

I wont vote for limiting contraceptives. Thats where I draw the line. FOR contraceptives, against killing unborn babies.

Seems like a logical stance one could have.

If you are using a contraceptrive, and you still have a baby? Kind of like riding a motorcycle, wearing a helmet and still dtying from an accident, nothing is 100% certain, you have to know the risks, and be prepared to deal with the outcomes.

I mean yeah sex feels good, but it's not like a bunch dont understand, that one of the results from having sex, is the possibility of making a baby.

Wow, just now seeing this. They really attacked police with fireworks and tried to kill them. Getting some insurrection vibes here. wow, this isn't who we are.

"tried to kill them"

You want it so bad, Kz.  My condolences.

Looks like some boomers doing some light meandering.

What are you babbling about?  Illegal abortions were common before 1973.  Obviously after 1973 they became uncommon.  We’re just going back to an era where women will get illegal abortions again.

if you want to actually argue about case law either enroll in law school or get on twitter and argue with some of the (real) lawyers on there.

i just wanted to see if any of the people in this thread that made it to 107 pages were actually arguing about what the rulings said, or if they were just "REEEEEE"ing over the word abortion. seems like its the latter.

as for the ruling, seems to me that it says a state has the right to outlaw abortions, so long as the pregnacy doesnt threaten the mothers life. feels like there is a lot of vagueality (not sure if thats a word....) in that. what constitutes life threatening? does anxiety and depression count? post pardum depresion is a big problem and can threaten the life of the mother and child.

just seems bigger than "muh abortion rights" as i read the old ruling. havent even gotten to the new one yet.

however, my ruling on this thread is that its a bunch of people slap fighting about "muh abortion rights"

Want what? Violent leftists to riot when they don't get their way? I mean, sure it's funny watching them get body-slammed, but I hate to see police get attacked. It's not who we are.

Plenty of people are talking about the nuances in the equal pay topic that also agree women should have choice.  Your post is a classic example of simplistic binary thinking.

What, do you want me to remember your pronoun?  Awesome if you're special but nope, by and large, it's the same people.  The same people who think equal pay is bogus are the ones who want to illegalize or severely limit abortion.

Oh my god. The violent leftists insurrected at the Arizona state capitol building. They tore down temporary fencing to commit the act. Oh god, our democracy. What has it become?

I think the reason people are upset is because for years we heard how Roe v. Wade was settled law even from some of the folks who just overturned it.

havent formulated an opinion yet. and open to people presenting me facts though.....

You're acting like this ruling is a symbolic gesture when it immediately put into effect severe restrictions on abortion in half the country.  yes, this is absolutely about muh abortion rights.

The Arizona senate had to evacuate. They were trying to kill the senators. This isn't who we are.

Here's the moment when the senate had to flee to avoid the mob that would have killed them had they not evacuated.

This is chilling. I literally can't stop shaking rn.

Cool, so we can finally agree that whoever coordinated this should go to jail?
