The corporations have to replace minimum wage labor.......DUH. :P

The majority of abortions come from single women making over $47K per year. So, not minimum wage. More like lower middle class.

Basically what needs to happen, if you go by the numbers, is these women need to get married and have kids. Now suddenly you have a bunch of $100-150K households with a kid or two.

As far as projections go, we’ve got about 10 years until the majority of women in America start passing their fertile years childless. That’s a demographic death spiral that will cause calamity.

Birth rates are below replacement levels currently. An extra million babies would help that.

Meh I'm good. Too many people around as is.

Is this seriously your worldview?

Do you really have to ask? Honestly  I thought he was coming from a "white replacement theory" angle. I'm not sure if this is better or worse.

By the numbers, the come from the $47K+ single woman demographic. Lots of unintended consequences could be positive:

lower promiscuity rates, higher rates of family formation, a birth rate spike to offset demographic decline, etc.

None of those things will happen given resistance to behavioral change

Global population is expected to peak around 2065 and then decline. Almost every first world nation is in local population decline. It’s a serious problem. People don’t grasp how dire a situation this can create.

This is just data. My "world view” is to do what makes you happy within the context of the non-aggression principle.

Generally I agree, but I think incentive structures are also pretty powerful and people adapt. We’ll see if any trends are reversed.

Where are you getting that stat from?

According to this, 49% of women having abortions are below the poverty level, with another 26% being within 200% of the poverty level.

Look at the posts over the last two pages, including the one you just liked from kz. You really want me to believe you have interest in helping anybody with mental illness? BS. The gender identity thing is just some weird hang-up, likely coming from religious beliefs, IMO. That being said, I won't paint with a broad brush here, there's certainly some people with sexual hang ups out there who aren't religious at all.

LOL- Project much. This has zero to do with religion to me, I cant speak for anyone else.

I am asking why we treat mental illnesses differently? Why, when the mental illness is surrounding gender dysphoria, do we treat it differently, then any other Mental illnesses?

Why, for gender dysphoria do we actually do the opposite of standard practice, addressing it as such, instead we coddle, enable and feed their illness?

I don't know. If I had to hazard a guess....most gender dysmorphia people have likely endured a lot of abuse/ridicule throughout their lives, as their condition is much more visible. I don't think anybody has been killed for being manic depressive or bi-polar, but certainly transgenders have been targeted as such.

And certainly there's a line too far, where the expectations of people with gender issues push too far (heh heh); but I think that's part of the package of learning and understanding them, instead of the outright hostility they face. The issue of people born as men trying to compete in women's sports for instance...I understand you have a gender identity issue, but you aren't allowed to compete in women's sports. I think it should be that simple. Sometimes life just isn't fair, and they will have to accept that sometimes.

Look at TEWs last post on the issue....substitute the word homosexuals for all the times he uses tranny or whatever, and you'd be transported back to the same thoughts and arguments from the 1950s and before. Homosexuality was at one time considered a mental illness (I believe it was included in the DSM for psych). Things change, world views change.

Look- I am for letting people be happy, let them be who they want to be, seriously. Be gay, Be  transexual, be a frog, I dont care. The issue I have is when it comes to children under the age of consent, children often go through phases, and I think we need to protect children from themselves and society, and not be issuing Puberty blockers or transitioning therapy until they are of age and consent to do so, I also dont think we should be exposing them to the glorification of such things at young impressionable ages.

But thats just me being me.

More stats supporting that abortion is another tool in the kit for career women (ie; the smart ones) to juggle their professions and their family planning.  Again, you nativist neochristians just want women in the g'damn kitchen.  Also, we're racking up the admissions from the right wingers in here!  @The_Omega they hanging you out to dry buddy!

1) I am happily married

2) Even if I wasn't I had a vasectomy about 10 years ago I could responsibly drop my loads with any woman, never having to worry about an unwanted pregnancy.

Come to Canada!

We can smoke some weed wherever we want, eat mushrooms, go to a strip club with full nudity, impregnate some chicks and then have them get abortions free of charge and guilt free! All without any fear of prosecution! We can also get some hookers if you'd like (though as the john's, we're the ones who could be charged, the actual hookers can't).
