Civility is not the domain of either side. Though again it's a matter of degrees.

The loudest uncivils on the left are also generally poor and so they're limited to protests and some level of rioting when they get incensed. That blows their emotional wad but doesn't much change the political landscape (if anything it hurts the left).

The loudest uncivils on the right are boomers and Jan 6 style MAGAs, who wield immense political power still and demonstrated their anger by attempting a violent coup or to at minimum terrorize Congress into installing their chosen leader as president over the majority of voters.

Guys like James Hodgkinson (shooter of Steve Scalise) are the worst, though fortunately relatively rare.

Putting aside one’s stance on the issue, we should all agree that it is egregious and dangerous that this was leaked. Draft opinions should remain private and debated among the justices. Not every cas

Oh, the irony...

The justices should feel secure in their persons and families to render whatever judgement they view is correct.

I'd say though that this isn't just any old ruling. This is the most emotion-driven legal topic the court has ruled on in the last 50 years and an entire political movement on the right has been voting hard in every election buoying them. If any of the five named in the majority of the leaked opinion flip it's likely they become the target of pro-lifers.

There are crazies out there that will take it to the wrong level regardless of outcome. And that's the sad thing.

Come on now.  They're just taking away millions of people's rights.  If they were in the process of restricting the right to bear arms, the right would have a calm and measured response.

I will agree with you there. Common sense laws would allow abortion for medical reasons, safety of the mother, rape etc. And as we know those make up about 8% of abortions. So what about the other 92+% ?

I don't disagree with you.

Moloch Warns Of Looming Child Sacrifice Supply Chain Issues

CANAAN—In a somber press release outside the burning gates of torment and suffering, the fire god Moloch warned of looming supply chain issues regarding child sacrifices.

Moloch added that human sacrifices, purifications, ordeals by fire, mutilations, etc., would cease until the supply chain shortages were sorted out through democratically violent means.

"My demon logistics department is reporting a supply chain shortage of children to sacrifice upon burning idols and in fiery pits," said the god of brazen gratification and hedonism. "The scarcity of innocent young lives to be brutally murdered at my feet is mostly due to the US Supreme Court's upcoming reversal of Roe v. Wade, led by white supremacist Clarence Thomas."

An uncomfortably large percentage of the US population cried out in fear and terror at the prospects of not being able to sacrifice children of a loving Heavenly Father for their own, selfish desires. Eyes rolled back in their sockets and blood-curdling screams pierced the air in the name of egomaniacal convenience.

"What about my career as a corporate drone who loves binge-drinking on the weekends!" cried one woman at the steps of the Supreme Court building while holding a protest sign reading "My Body, My Choice, My Vanity, My Career, My Parties, My Barren, Loveless Life."

At publishing time, Moloch was considering the allowance of back alley child sacrifices using common household objects and horse medication.

Seriously?

Leftists have published the home addresses for the conservative members of the Supreme Corut online and are threatening to engage in potentially violent and illegal protests against them. The move comes after a draft of a Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade was leaked on Monday.

A group named "Ruth Sent Us” is now calling for disruption and violence in Catholic churches, as well as protests outside the private homes of Supreme Court justices and their families. These radicals even published the justices’ home addresses.

As National Review reports, "a leftist group called Ruth Sent Us posted what it claims are the home addresses of the Court’s six conservative justices online in preparation for an organized "walk-by protest” set to take place outside the justices’ homes next week.”

Here’s more:

Ruth Sent Us plans to dispatch demonstrators to "the homes of the six extremist justices” on Wednesday, May 11, according to the group’s website.

"ANNOUNCING: Walk-by Wednesday, May 11, 2022! At the homes of the six extremist justices, three in Virginia and three in Maryland. If you’d like to join or lead a peaceful protest, let us know,” the website states.

They released the home addresses for the justices and will be marching past their homes. Nobody should be ok with any of this including the leak that started this.

Yes, it was a serious question.

Honestly I would not expect the home addresses of SC justices to be some big secret. That's not an endorsement of anyone who would use the information to harass or intimidate (terrorize if you will) justices into ruling a particular way, I just would have assumed their home addresses were not that hard to find.

I think that’s an extremely convenient belief.

Why? The home addresses of elected officials is common knowledge. Why would the home address of SC justices be any different?

To be sure I'm not in support of anybody who would seek to harass a SC justice regardless of circumstances, I simply am saying their (various) home addresses probably have been known to anybody who wanted to look for them for some time.

Regardless, "marketing” the addresses and encouraging people to go to those private homes and disrupt the family private life is not a good thing.

I seriously doubt that the home addresses of Supreme Court Justices we’re as readily available as you claim. You’re excusing the active intimidation of our highest court.

Agreed. I think I made that clear.

BS. I specifically said it DID NOT excuse intimidation.

Get back to me when you stop excusing intimidation from Jan 6 meanderers.

""Conservatives don't get a sh!t about you until you reach...military age. Then they think you are just fine, just what they've been looking for! Conservatives want live babies so they can raise them to be dead soldiers."

"These people aren't pro-life, they're killing doctors! What kind of pro-life is that? What, they'll do anything they can to save a fetus, but if it grows up to be a doctor, they just might have to kill it?

"They're not pro-life, you know what they are? They're anti-woman...they believe a woman's primary role is to function as a broodmare for the state."

I actually found the whole show. It's incredible. He was truly one-of-a-kind. They don't make 'em like George anymore. RIP.

For starters, overturning Roe v. Wade allowing states to each set their own limits on abortion is not going to make it any easier for the 8% or 92%.

I think we need to focus more on education and contraception. Let's redirect the resources spent on legal battles for/against abortion, and put it towards women's health. If a women becomes pregnant, she can decide the best course for herself and her fetus with the help of her family, her doctors, her community... whomever she decides. Law doesn't have to get a say.

I'm old enough to remember one of the usual EMB suspects in this very thread rallying around some MAGAt caught on camera screaming racist threats at an 8 year old girl walking in her own neighborhood. The justification of the behavior was that the racist MAGAt didn't physically harm anyone and that while they wouldn't do it themselves this individual was free to harass and intimidate anyone he wanted because it wasn't against the law.

Maybe going back 50 years by making abortion illegal, will produce more babies, that will grow up to be Democrats and vote Republicans out of office. LOL.

Karma.

Karma.

By the time they're of voting age, we'll already be a Christofascist dictatorship and elections will have long been a thing of the past.

The real issue will be,

Mom is pregnant and goes for an ultrasound. The results show that the baby is born without vital organs. The doctor says the baby has to be removed or the toxins will kill the mother.

So what to be done? Remove the baby and save the mother's life? Or leave the baby in and allow the mother to die. If the Doctor removes the baby he will be charged with murder.

I guess, to Republicans, the babies life is more valuable than the human life of the mother.

Let the mother die. That's what Republicans want.
