We literally just had a vote as to whether or not we should spend money via the FDA to address the formula shortage. Something directly impacting the  health of about 50% of the babies in the US, and had led to hospitalizations of newborns. 192 members of the house voted against it.

Wanna guess party affiliation of those 192?

The two are completely separate issues that only a child would conflate because theyve lost the argument

I understand that you take this position.  The majority of people do not.

In Ted's defense, it must be pretty hard to get someone to "stimulate your genitals" when you look like/have the personality of a sentient garbage bag of mayonnaise. I'd be pretty frustrated too.  If he can't have pleasure no one can.

Well its the factual beginning of a human life so who cares what people think

The devil is in the details.  How do you define the term "life"?  Go to Merriam Webster and you'll get conflicting definitions that both sides of the debate can use.

1a : the quality that distinguishes a vital and functional being from a dead body
b : a principle or force that is considered to underlie the distinctive quality of animate beings
c : an organismic state characterized by capacity for metabolism (see metabolism sense 1), growth, reaction to stimuli, and reproduction

5a : the period from birth to death

Here's a question that always seems to get swept under the rug - for those who support abortion rights, how many personally find it repugnant and would never consent to an unborn child of theirs to be aborted?

It is the point at which the process begins that will inevitably create a human life.  It is when you get dna, when a unique human being is created.

The only conclusion a rational person can make is that human life begins when it is conceived.

Nah.

Its scientific fact

Has a human ever been born without being conceived?

Has a woman ever given birth to a human baby without carrying it for months?

You just dont want to admit it because its inconvenient to your general political world view.  The real "inconvenient truth"

Theres literally a tv show about women not even knowing theyre pregnant until the baby is born, and idiots want to talk about "quickening"

Can a 3 month old fetus survive if the mother dies?  If not, I fail to see why we should consider that baby a living being.

Is it a dead being?  Its got a dna and it will become you and me.  To say it's not alive is insane

To me, the first benchmark is whether the fetus could survive with proper care outside the womb.

Men have done that dude

We couldn't even convince a third of the country to make the easiest decision of their lives and get vaccinated during the worst pandemic in our nation's history, but yeah, I bet we're real close to coming to a consensus on this whole abortion thing.

Alabama has effectively outlawed abortion. They are one of the states with trigger laws that will ban abortion completely if Roe v. Wade is reversed. Doctors there are already hesitant to treat miscarriage, for fear the medical board calls it abortion. LINK

Medical providers who treat pregnancy-related issues in red states exist in a constant state of fear of performing any procedure that can be classified as an abortion—even while the procedures remain legal. We know that we face the risk of being prosecuted, having our licenses revoked, or even being thrown in jail if we fail to precisely follow every regulation, no matter how arcane or medically unnecessary it is.

As an OB-GYN, I work in active fear of being arrested for providing evidence-based health care in this state.

Who cares? They all died off in the winter of severe illness and death.

Ok, so follow up question:  If you have the position that human life begins at conception, are you then conveying constitutional rights to a fertilized egg?  Because if so, then here are some follow up questions to that:

1) Would you then ban all abortions at all times for any reason?  i.e A woman is raped and impregnated and wants an abortion.  Are you saying that's not allowed since she'd be killing a human life in doing so?    What about etopic pregnancies?  Or a scenario where the mother's life is at risk if she carries the pregnancy through to term?

2) Would you then be in favor of banning the morning after pill?

3) What happens with IVF then?  If we have the view that life begins at conception and thus nothing can ever be done to a fertilized egg that decreases the chance of birth, then this would make IVF illegal then, which would be a very odd unintended consequence considering IVF helps couples create life that are having difficulty of doing it on their own.

Good thing the American health care system can manage the influx of 12,000 unvaccinated illegal aliens a day. 🤔

So then are the 1/3 to 1/2 of fertilized eggs that never implant into the uterus to be considered deaths?

But an individual can be charged with murdering both in killing the mother.
