I'm sorry I brough such a depressing topic into the blog.  A little back story without too much detail. I met my friend 12 years ago during an AF commissioning program. He was on top of the world

So Treylon Burks couldn't make it through the Titans first rookie minicamp practice because of the heat and being out of shape.

Kyle Phillips, on the other hand, looked spectacular.

Maybe the Eagles dodged a bullet in not drafting Burks.

Probably too soon to know.

AJ Brown was expensive. But I bet they are already missing him in Tennessee.

Eagles were not going to draft Burks at #18.

McDuffe was the pick if the AJ trade didn't happen.

How great would it be if Hurts actually did become a great passer? I’d be elated. It’s possible, I guess. But I think it’s safe to say he’ll never be a great passer. You don’t just start reading defenses in an offseason. Or all the sudden have a strong arm. Deep ball accuracy could conceivably improve. Maybe going from one read to two. But I don’t see him all the sudden going through all his progressions from a clean pocket. The best we can realistically expect is two reads, and some extended play making where he maybe keeps his eyes downfield instead of running. But that’s still not what I’d prefer in a QB.

I'd have sooo much crow to eat. I'd almost prefer he burned an Eagle flag and flipped us the bird by leaving in free agency. I don't know how I could take back all the crap I've said about him or how he could forgive me. I'd show up for a game and they'd be like, "I'm sorry Mr. VileOne sir, we can't let you in" and i'd understand.

KP was who I wanted to draft later on. Kid is the ideal slot

Fixed.

I know there's not a lot to talk about but overanalyzing how other team's rookie do in a 2-day rookie only minicamp is really pushing it

I like Hargrave but he's not been consistent in his 2 years here.  Last year he started off red hot then faded as the season went on.  He's 29.  I understand from a financial standpoint why it would make sense due to his cap hit but I think any extension over 2 years would be a mistake.  I hope the Eagles learned their lesson with Fletcher Cox. We also have no idea how Hargrave will perform in this new hybrid 3/5 man front.  Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Considering they gave him 14mil this season I'd say they did not. Besides much as these bad contracts might hurt the bigger issue is always getting new talent.  Sure maybe a bad contract might prevent you from signing one top FA but that's rarely the answer any way

Yeah ultimately I don't think this matters much, but I'll say I'm always surprised how sloppy Burks's body is considering his physical gifts.

What physical gifts? His athletic scores weren’t that impressive.

Why are you posting this on an Eagles message board as a Bucs fan?  You truly are the ultimate underground troll.

Been posting here / original board longer than the majority since 2004 . I post on numerous football boards , not only am I a Bucs fan , more importantly I’m a football fan . Not that I owe you or anyone else a explanation .  Now run along .

Apologize. Couldn't go back and watch. Still in the babies room lol still the fact he reacted to tweaking anything with dismiss isn't a good look.

Well let’s also use our own sense of judgment: he was in Southern Cal working with a "throwing coach” per the HC. He wouldn’t be working with a "throwing coach” if he wasn’t tweaking his overall play. Whether or not Jalen admits, he was working on everything but hopefully with an emphasis on his feet.

EDIT:

I'm a diehard Eagles fan and always have been. Always will be.

Time to sign up and talk with the Texans fans.

🥴

Honestly a cpl of the most football savvy sites that I post on are a Patriots  ,Steelers and a WFT site . It’s ok to be a fan of a team and post on other team boards ……. don’t be intimidated .

Alabama and Oklahoma aren't probably the ideal programs for a QB learning how to be a pocket QB.

And in his rookie season Wentz probably got the lion's share of attention from the coaches.

Then Sirianni and Johnson come in "cold," with COVID and limitations on off-season activity.

So it's not that surprising that Hurts' mechanics need work, the good thing that, unlike some QB in the past, he's not fighting change.

I suspect come August, they'll look to build on what Hurts learned in California.

Didn’t Andy Reid always say that he doesn’t mess with a QB’s upper body but instead his feet? He made those statements so often that you would assume it was common knowledge.

Frustratingly enough, young men like Hebert have clearly been coached on sequencing their feet with their eyes. This has little to do with talent and should have been coached into him day 1.

Yea I don’t put too much stock on any of this stuff, especially this early. I remember one year that Bill Belichick publicly called out his team for coming into camp out of shape.

The year was 2001 and the Pats won their first SB 7 months later.

Couldn’t agree more.  Every party where that smelly tray of mustard eggs walks through the door should be shut down immediately. 🤮

I’ll try my best but I get pretty insecure when I find out some guy on the internet that posts mediocre content also does the same thing on other football message boards!
