The NFL Rookie Premier is more than just that group photo. Rookies sit down and sign TONS of memorabilia, take picture for their first NFL trading card and so on. Generally, you'll see one of, if not the teams top draft pick and then a mix of top NCAA talent who may have slipped in the draft. It's a very who's who of incoming rookie talent.

I'll go ahead and guess that the players to be there were pre-determined by the organizers and since he was thought of as a high profile QB, maybe a 2nd rounder even... he had already been booked.

Zone corner. yeah i would say safeties are susceptible but we should be improved there Well, I have voiced my concern about Howie refusing to draft Ss. That said, in high school, Coach used to say that they call it safety for a reason. (That was primarily defending the wishbone. Veer, wing T and a little bit of Power I.) Last year, Harris played about 20 yards deep a fair amount of the time. (With better coverage from the LBs, I expect that cushion to shrink a bit.). But all of the Ss on the current roster are best downhill. Basically, keeping the play in front of them. Mayden, Vincent (despite roster listing as a CB, should get work at FS), and Wallace all have experience in the slot. Mayden and Vincent have good speed but Mayden misjudged angles too much at Alabama for me to have confidence in him as a FS. That’s why I push Vincent in that role. Both are green. Epps was but seemed to click more as the season wore on. Wallace seems best as the low S. For a decent nickel in college, he just seems to miss so many plays those rare times he played. He is at the point where he needs to show he can be an NFL S. Chachere seems limited to me (but he was still a bit green). Blankenship looks like a box S but good downhill in college. I think we see some combination of Cover 2, Cover 4, Cover 6 (I think the Eagles played some Cover 6 last year where when watching the All 22, I would think they were playing Cover 2 and then concentrating on another area think they were playing Cover 4). Singleton would miss in initial reaction that it was hard to tell what the LBs were doing. The Eagles played more Cover 3 than I thought they would. (Not a lot but sometimes it sure seemed so with where McLeod was lining up.) They also played a kind of Cover 2/Cover 1 hybrid from the nickel where it would look like Slay and Maddox were playing man or real tight cushions on the receiver in their zone, Nelson zone (almost like a boundary corner) with a looser cushion and with Harris so deep he was not visible on TV so you had to look at the all 22 and McLeod and/or Epps playing downhill. But Singleton struggled to keep the play in front of him (as opposed to catching the play) and Nelson was all too ready to pass the receiver to Harris so there would be a gap. (PFF liked Nelson more than me.) So I hope a healthy Taylor, White and/or Dean and a Bradberry, McPhearson or Gowan allow Harris to play it a little closer this year. I also suspect. We didn’t see a lot of jams at the LOS and no press man. I don’t expect any change on that.

Calcaterra is from LA but has spent so much time in the Midwest, I am not sure he calls LA home anymore. All the other rookies are from Central or Eastern time zones. So Strong may have the closest proximity.

Not sure it is that simple. Believe the rookie premier is an NFLPA event and includes some seminars on money management and careers post football. IIRC there was something about media training some years ago that got some publicity.

Right, that's sort of in line with what I was saying earlier with top draft picks doing all of their NFLPA stuff (signatures, cards etc.) Top 2 picks are there along with a big mix of other 1st rounders, top talent....and Eagles UDFA Carson Strong! I know there's a huge hype train for Strong here but there's also a chance he doesn't make the team. Most of the players, if not all of the players at the premiere are locks to not only make their respective teams but start or contribute.
May 21, 20223 yr 6 hours ago, Sack that QB said: Eagles 2022 roster vs 2017 roster(going into the season for both) QB - 2017. Went played MVP caliber ball RB - 2022. Even with their flaws I’ll take the youth and upside of Sanders and Gainwell over Blount and Clement. Certainly not a blowout. Also like the pass catching versatility of Sanders and Gainwell. I could see why others would vote 2017 though. WR - 2022. Not even close. AJ Brown is better than any WR on the 2017 roster by a wide margin and Smith also has a chance to be. Watkins I think could very well give you what Agholor gave you that year numbers wise. He put up about 650 in 2021 with a majorly running offense. OL - close to even. Brooks at RG way better than any current RG on the roster. Peters at that point is probably even with Mailata. Dickerson is superior to Wisnieski. I’ll actually take Dillard over Vaitai as a depth OT. Vaitai wasn’t very good. I actually think 2022 has better depth, but maybe a little less seasoned with experience. TE - 2017. Love Goedert, but can’t go against Ertz at that point. And Burton was very good in 2017. DL - 2022. No Chris Long, but Jordan Davis and Hargrave are both more talented than Jernigan. Cox better then than he is now. Think the DT depth separates them. LB - 2022. Not even close. Bradham was very good, but Reddick, Dean, White alone makes this a superior LB group. Most talent the Eagles have had there since the early 2000s. CB - 2022. Not even close. Eagles have a top 7 CB group probably. The 2017 group was not very good. Darby and Mills were both very mediocre. And that’s being kind. S - 2017. Not really a debate. K - even P - 2017 I think the 2022 roster going into the season is a better roster than 2017. With the big difference that year being QB play and the coaching staff was elite. You forgot about Celek, who played quite a bit as the blocking TE, the trio of earth celek and burton was pretty good compared to goedert and a bunch of unknown scrubs. At LB I wouldn't really include Reddick as a LB, he'll mainly be the 5th pass rusher in a 5 man front, who may occasionally drop behind him Edwards is ok Davion Taylor is still an unknown, Dean is still just a rookie and white was the leading tackler on one of the worst run defenses in the league, he could be Eric Wilson 2.0 Where as 2002 to start was Hicks Bradham who I wouldn't classify as great but solid and then Kendricks at WIL. All 3 of those guys were established and didn't have the same questions surrounding this group of LBs. As for Davis being more talented than Jernigan? Who knows, David is a rookie he could come in and get pushed around by NFL o line man, I've seen crazier things happen. For some reason you left out the DEs, Vinny curry played some good snaps for that team, graham was better than he is now and I'd say Barnett probably was as well. Agree about CB though P Rob was one of the better nickels In the league that year. The safeties this year are sad ☹️ Also Jay ajayi was a huge addition to that team, though he was a mid season trade I don't think he should be excluded from the list just because he wasnt on opening day roster.
