Right, why hold the media to factual accuracy? That position seems to be bolstering the strength of our nation on a daily basis. Good call.

Get him! He was released three days ago not a week!

Yea not sure how he's going to be able to look at himself in the mirror after a major blunder like that

It's why Hurts is perfect for this team and the perfect leader to lead any team.  No one has bender fundamentals.

Eagles on their way to carrying 9 CB again.

Whose going to be the first cut of the 2022 offseason?

Allen? Wheatfall? Ostman? Hurts? Blackwell?

So its not JJAW to FS, it's Kelce.

I think it says he was release last week, not a week ago. If it was reported on Monday and he was released on Friday, one could say last week. No need to continue.

I liked Moreland, surprised he was waived.

I was wondering if this could be a safety convert.

He's implying Maddox to FS

Approachable, yes. You're people should never be afraid to approach you with concerns, suggestions, insight, etc. that might let you make better informed decisions. It also makes you accessible in case a subordinate has a personal issue to discuss. You should always at least be available to at least hear folks' problems. Of course, there has to be a balance.

Friendly? There I agree with you. A good leader has to be personable and at least to a degree relatable to his/her subordinates. Being too friendly either gives folks the impression you're a pushover, or gets you in trouble via fraternization. Again, it's always been a delicate balance, throughout my career as a leader at least.

4 doesnt grasp how to lead. Kinda like hurts.

its not a title. Its a question of who will follow

yeah. You have flexibility for that, or Vincent moving there. But likely Maddox witht he starting experience moves, and Moreland is an easy plug and play for the nickel job then.

I've come to the conclusion that he's the new Tom Brady,  my expectation is that he'll have a similar level of success in the NFL.

0.2 is what, 10 drinks? Pretty standard for a long night out in Miami

None of what happens in our lives compares to running a pro football franchise.  Not all the same rules apply.  That said, no one is arguing that the owner doesn't need to be "approachable".  That's common sense.  Where that came from is beyond me.  Lurie was a meddling doofus and he ate some humble pie.  Good.  Now stay in the big corner office until it's time to christen a new windmill or promote another fundraiser.

I guess I missed most of the conversation that led up to your post. Agree with you that not all leadership traits are equally valuable in all situations or positions, but there are some that I believe are universal. Being approachable is one, in my opinion.

Then again, there have been many great leaders in history who were very much inflexible, and it suited them given the situation. Like I said, just one man's opinion, but every good boss I've had was was approachable and I've always tried to be that way too.

I'm not much in the mood for arguing. Let's just say we're both right in our own way and I didn't mean any offense in my response to your post.

Absolute hell yes to Maddox at safety. Should've stayed there after his rookie year.

One of my favorite quotes on leadership is from Machiavelli, and I'll probably botch it:

It it isn't titles that honor men, but men who honor titles.

I always tried to not use my rank as an excuse to act a certain way, or to treat those under me a certain way like I was above them just because of the insignia on my lapel/shoulder. I wanted to set an example and behave in a way that people wanted to follow me notbjust because of rank but because I did the right thing. Of course, having the rank and legal authority helped, but I never wanted to be one of those guys that threw his rank around just to get what he wanted.

That's not directed at anyone here on the board...just felt like sharing.
