Hope they don't move Avonte to safety. He's very good at nickel CB. I don't like messing with a good thing for experimentation. Just go out and get a real safety or give Epps a shot.

I thought Maddox was best at safety his rookie season. However they definitely hindered his development forcing him to play all 3 positions. Now that he’s going into season 5, I’m ok with moving him around more.

Story time:

In my youth, a group of friends and I decided to go bar hopping after a unit Christmas party in downtown San Antonio. We had all been drinking heavily at the party--it was an open bar and we were all of age-- and thought it would be a good idea to go to some of the bars on the river walk. So we park in a parking garage and a few of us, myself included, needed to make some room in the bladder but there wasn't a bathroom in sight. We were all mid 20s, had been getting loaded at the party already, so we weren't necessarily making the best decisions. We decided what better than to piss off the edge of the garage. Little did we know there was a police substation directly below where we were pissing, and the bike cops' bikes were getting drenched in our piss shower.

Moments later we were aggressively confronted by said bike cops. We didn't realize who they were at first and just thought they were local thugs looking for trouble. We were tackled to the ground--a couple of us Ds still in hand--and handcuffed. We were taken to jail and at intake had to pee in a cup and take breathalyzers.

I registered a .22 and I didn't even have the highest BAC out of our group. We all spent the night in jail and were charged with public urination, which was eventually dropped with a stern "boys will be boys" talk from the judge in the morning.

Thing is, even registering a .22, I didn't feel like I was blackout, shitfaced drunk. .22 sounds like a lot when compared to the legal limit. I still to this day remember all the details of being arrested, intake at the jail, and even the conversations we had amongst each other and with the other folks in the group cell.

I don't  think, even at a .22 BAC that I would have tried to cross a busy interstate. Then again, I can't say I wouldn't hav if there were reason to. I think there was probably more going on with Haskins that night than just his high BAC.

I just don't get Maddox being this top slot guy. He's ok, I would say above average even, but that's about it. He doesn't come up and lay the wood, not intimidating but feisty and sticky though. I still don't think he's worth 8 mil a year. We picked up Moreland who's similar to Maddox in size and style. Would it kill them to bring in a slot corner a little bigger and stronger, I don't get it.
