Are we really not going to issue 23, 87, 25, or 86?

Too many unretired numbers just not being used...

As far as 12 goes, just officially retire it already

Not giving out Brent Celeks number for 5 years is just so odd.

At least 23 and 86 were used last year

The good old Sam Bradford excuse

Hurts could actually get worse this season; that's a possibility no one in the media is discussing.

In his last 6 starts of the 2021 season (including playoffs) Hurts went 104/179 (58%) for 1,243 yards with 4 TD and 6 INT.  He had 51 rushing attempts (28.5% rushing to pass attempts) for 274 yards.

He didn't exactly finish last season on fire -- not to make anyone reasonably predict a huge jump in his play this season.

Has parenting gotten worse ? I say yes , and technology plays a big part

For decades, the toll of mass shootings has risen steadily. During the 1970s, mass shootings claimed an average of 5.7 lives per year. In the 1980s, the average rose to 14. In the 1990s it reached 21; in the 2000s, 23.5. This decade has seen a far sharper rise. Today, the average is 51 deaths per year.

Trickle down of the dumbing of America’s youth. You know everybody talks about millineals. Blah blah blah. Who raised them? Generation X’ers. And I am 50. My kids straight. Y’all need to whip their asses!

They just had some reporter, Kempski I think on 97.5, and of course he brought up the Hurts has not had the same system two years in a row since high school nonsense.

This is the NFL, there is coaching turnover, systems adapted.  Brady changed teams and won a Super Bowl, Stafford changed teams and won a Super Bowl.

NFL QB's are expected to learn the offense and process it, you know how to play football, just need to learn a playbook.  If you can not learn it and implement it the first year,  you are not able to be a successful NFL QB.

If it was Kempski, that’s typical. Hurts spent three, count ‘em, three years at Alabama. Then one year at Oklahoma, and now two, and counting, here.

Millennials were raised by Boomers, Gen Z were raised by Gen X’ers.

Technology absolutely plays a big part. Not only is there the whole cyber bullying aspect, but it gives these individuals a platform where other people with similar issues can talk/agree with them.

This country is a mess.

Yep. One of the most annoying media/radio talking points is "he's going to be better, he just is. How much better is the question".

QB's do regress. It's not just going to be an incline every year until he hits the ceiling and flat lines. QB regression happens every single year.

Every time we have the number discussion I need to bring up the fact that they give Westbrooks 36 to any UDFA bum out there.  McLeod was a good Eagle and a SB Champion.  He's hardly worthy of not having his number worn the following season.

Ertz, you wanted to go.  All-Time Eagle but you wanted out.  Your number should be up for grabs.

Yeah, beating your kids isn't the solution to this...... if anything, that would contribute to a kid's messed up psyche.

Maybe no one wants those numbers ???

Maybe, who knows.  All I know, is my Mom would get the wooden spoon and give me a good smack on the @ss when I got out of line.  It made me not want to do that again.

We’ve studied every public mass shooting since 1966 for a project funded by the National Institute of Justice, the research arm of the U.S. Department of Justice. Our research spans more than 50 years, yet 20% of the 164 cases in our database occurred in the last five years. More than half of the shootings have occurred since 2000 and 33% since 2010. The deadliest years yet were 2017 and 2018, and this year is shaping up to rival them, with at least 60 killed in mass shootings, 38 of them in the last five weeks.

I can see no one wanting 86 as the 80s numbers are a thing of the past for receivers although I'm sure Britain Covey would look much better in 86 than 41 but 23 is a pretty clutch number for a RB or DB.

They gave Jimmy Moreland 47.  I guarantee you he isn't happy about that.  He should be in 23.

There are better ways to teach than to punish physically. That's the laziest "solution" of all. That's poor parenting.

Maybe he did not want 23.  Wore 20 and 32 with the Commanders, 22 with the Texans and 6 in college.

Not saying that is the only way, bet there is times that a good smack on the backside is what is needed.

Maybe but I'm a uniform number nerd.  47 is terrible for him.  Who does he think he is, Ryan McNeil?

Calcatarra could've had 86 or 87.  He actually said he wanted a higher number and will wait to change it when he can

I wonder who’s raising these kids to be "bad” parents? 🤔

Better is subjective. I think being able to beat that hind when it steps out of line is an effective tool to prevent raising a tool.

Ban on a wide array of guns , much tougher background checks  , arming teachers  , these are just for starters .

I was in high school in the 80s , no doors were ever locked during school , never even heard about guns , let alone having school shooting …. You have to aske yourself , what has changed over the years .

Here's the thing, for all the guns in America, how many mass shootings were stopped by a person with a gun?  Almost none, in fact, I suspect more by people tackling the gun man.

Gun people fantasize what they'd do, but in reality, people run. Even trained policemen and soldiers often fail to fire in a "combat" situation.

Big difference between firing range wet dreams and actually facing down an active shooter.

I would think so, but I am watching a generation grow up without a clear understanding of consequences.

Time outs and no wifi are not as effective as the child psychologists had hoped.

There's a middle ground between whooping your kid and letting them be a spoiled brat. It takes attention. A lot of parents are too lazy/distracted to focus on their kids.
