If your employer polices you to that extent then it’s time for a new job. I’m given full autonomy to do whatever I want as long as my work gets done. It’s what adults do.

Exactly.  I am the least managed person at my company, as I get the job done with absolutely no supervision.

Minshew had 4 in 2 starts. Hurts had 21 in 16 starts.

Why would you base it off those two stats specifically? Leading the league in those two things is not directly indicative of any advantage over other, more polished QB’s, but moreso of his team’s in-game circumstances. It seems counterintuitive, but more successful deepball QBs generally have higher completion percentages, they go hand in hand. Look at Watson in 2020, Dak in 2019, Cousins basically his whole career. Do you regard those QB’s highly? Your list doesn’t corroborate that. They have bloated completion and YPA stats too.

Here is a list of aggregate statistics that can directly define (as objectively as possible) a QB’s value in helping his team win football games:

1. QB EPA

Herbert - 120.3

Burrow - 79.4

Joe was 10th in the national football league in this category, Justin Herbert was best in the world.

2. Total QBR

Herbert - 65.6

Burrow - 54.3

With 50 being considered perfectly average, Burrow just dodged that distinction by placing 12th in the league. Justin was 3rd overall, with only 6 QB’s total breaking 60.

Statistical analysis that takes everything into account, including how they do in the 4th quarter, how they do on third down, how they do against good defenses vs bad defenses, how they do in short yardage situations, the red zone, how many drives result in points…. These say that Herbert wasn’t just way better than Burrow last year, he is one of the best QB’s on Earth right now.

This data indicates completion percentage advantage is the least indicative toward which QB is superior of those listed. And YPA isn’t much better

So the four you should use, EPA, QBR, PFF and ANY/A. Heads and shoulders above the rest.

Hurts, PFF 11th, QBR 20th, ANY/A 15th, EPA 13th - 11th to 20th with an average of 15.

Yes, I'm still working my way up to fry cook.

This give anyone hope? I counted 8 called back passing TD's. I can remember off the top of my head atleast 4 dropped TD's(Goedert vs CAR, Watkins vs DEN, Reagor & Ward vs NYG). This type of thing happens to every QB but having potentially 12 TD's taken off the board due to penalties/drops seems absurd. On the flip side, im sure you could make a compilation twice as long of his dropped INT's, over/under throws, missed reads etc.

I thought he was really good as the divorce lawyer in Marriage Story too

Hurts had 16 passing TDs last year and had 8 passing TDs negated by penalty. That seems like an absurd percentage,

I thought Heartbreakers was a pretty entertaining movie too.  Then again it had an in her prime Jennifer Love Hewitt too.

1.RPO that Hurts took way too long to throw. Half the O-line is in the endzone

2. Reagor is bad and has bad awareness

3. Another RPO that took too long. Part of the blame is on Dillard running down the field toward no one.

4. JJAW being an idiot

5. Smith is good but had bad awareness on one play

6. Greg Ward has no idea how to run a pick play

7. Pretty weak call on Smith that didn't affect the play, but there was also Driscoll drifting down the field for no reason on a non RPO play

8. Holding on Herbig, pretty blatantly

9. Bad hold on Watkins, scored a TD on that drive anyway

He's definitely missing a few. We were called on a lot of pick plays in the red zone.

Yeah I remember a lot of called back TDs, some really pretty throws from Hurts too especially in that Chiefs and 49ers game. But 9 total? damn.  8 Hurts TD passes taken off the board.

That is indeed a lot but he's not the only QB in the NFL to have TDs called back. Happens all the time to all QBs.

The amount of TDs called bakc on penalties last season seemed abnormally high.

Its disturbing to hear Howie is beating up our football team. Maybe this will ease our minds a bit, with such tragic developments.

I think the fact that we had 8 passing TDs called back and one rushing TD called back is a clear indication that we had an abnormally high number of passing TDs wiped out by penalty, regardless of how you want to spin it.

We had to have lead the league in called back TDs.

Yeah that’s about right. What would you say would be worth keeping him as starter beyond 2022? 11-12th?

It is a nice QB draft next year, but it’ll probably cost a ton to move up to the top 3, whereas having 2 new 1st round additions to the Dline/Secondsry next year would be sick
