But I doubt anyone is made at you for sharing, in fact maybe even 1 or 2 agree with you................................the beauty of a message board, no?

I cant help that so many people responded to me. I would prefer an owner who just funds the team and only intervenes when necessary. I understand these people are billionaires and like to have a little fun with their teams. He can do whatever he wants. He can appoint his pet Chihuahua as GM if he wants to. Doesnt make it right. I would prefer the owner actually know about the workings of the team and the league. That way when they interview GM's and coaches, they know what they are looking for. If you think many of these owners sit on their hands and are not involved, you are kidding yourself. They are in it to make money, so they are involved.

He's going to be the CEO, which means he should have a basic understanding of what the people under him do so he can ask the right questions. Otherwise you end up like the Flyers, with a rank amateur running the show, dependent on his 'advisors' to make decisions. Given some of the losers who ran the team in the past (Tose, Braman), I'm happy the franchise won't be in the hands of some kid whose primary activities are chasing women, drinking to 4 AM and gambling on on-line casinos. Sounds like Jules to a T. He can be both.

For you to sit on a message board, and say millionaires and billionaires are wrong is hysterical to me. The vast majority of NFL owners are that alone, without significant responsibilities in the day to day operations of the team. Correct? I think its hysterical for Lurie to believe he and his son are smarter than the rest of them. They're not.

But you would think in his role, Julian will bave to collaborate with others, seek input and feedback, make decisions. What if he makes a bad decision? Will anyone feel comfortable calling him out? How will he be held accountable if he screws up? Could he be fired? What happened here is the organizational balance just got tilted in one direction and there is a inequitable arrangement.

I responded, "no sir, what you need to worry about is when a Texan asks if you want to step outside” as I nodded at the door. For some reason, he treated me more gently during the rest of the deposition. During a break, he said to me that the only entity that was hated more than his client by the "backwards hicks around here” was insurance companies. I told him that my wife had a mess of kin in the community (true) that would take offense to his characterization and that I would just put my Tony Lamas on and fit in just fine with the jury whereas with his NY accent, they’d be looking for a rope and a tall tree. He told me if it came to trial he would have the Texas attorney his client had associated with try the case. (We settled so neither of us ever got to test our theory. My practice is to be a polite and nice as possible in any setting. I buy lunches for defendants and thank them for coming to my offiic, compliment their attorneys when they come in for mediation. If I'm trying to get money from them, it doesn't hurt to be nice. Most of the time you can get a lot farther and it certainly helps to get witnesses to talk.

Uh yeah, reality What evidence do you have of any other owners or their family members being involved in day to day operations within their organizations? The majority of owners are rich businessmen and hardly even have time to participate in their teams Lurie has now aligned himself with the Shahid Khans, Jim Irsays, Jerry Joneses of the NFL. 2 minutes ago, justrelax said: You are getting farther and farther afield. June 3, 20223 yr Just a quick Google says teams with the CEO and Owner being the same: Bills, Patriots, Jets, Ravens, Steelers, Bengals, Browns, Colts, Texans, Chiefs in AFC Giants, Eagles, Commanders, Saints, Rams, 49ers, Cardinals in the NFC. Vikings and Cowboys both have the sons of the owner as CEO. So that's 17 teams currently with the owner/CEO being the same, with 2 more on the way.
