Not sure why the NBA has the Finals on so late and mostly on weeknights.  And they wonder why the ratings are down?

I'm sorry I brough such a depressing topic into the blog.  A little back story without too much detail. I met my friend 12 years ago during an AF commissioning program. He was on top of the world

Warriors fans are mostly west coast. It’s only 6p out there

Hustle is out on netflix today. That is the basketball movie set in philly with Adam Sandler playing a scout who discovers a euro player. And there are tons of cameos of NBA players including 76ers like Thybulle and Tobias Harris.

I'm looking forward to watching it.  I wonder what smoke show actress Sandler hooks up with in this movie?  It does look solid with some great Philly content.

If it's anything on par with Uncut Gems it will be good.

Uncut Gems was terrible.  At least I thought it was.  The whole movie everyone was just constantly yelling at each other.  I made it about half way thru and had to call it.

Here's what the OP said.

Keep in mind last offseason all we heard was how Reagor was catching everything...So Hurts is this years Reagor

Clearly that was not a correct statement. I provided proof of that. Then you jumped in to defend that statement by providing links to articles that actually proved it to be incorrect.

There's no moving of the goalposts. There's someone saying something dumb, getting called out for it, and then others, blinded by their dislike of the qb, randomly chiming in.

We should all be happy that Hurts is playing well right now. He's hitting deep balls even with backups against our starting defense. Yes, it's OTAs and there's a long way to go before the season, but he is way ahead of where he was last year during training camp in these kind of drills.

Here's a quote about Hurts from early in last year's camp.

"On the whole, Hurts just isn’t having the camp I imagine the Eagles would’ve ideally liked to see from him. He’s done nothing to dissuade the team from looking for an eventual upgrade."

So the fact that he has looked much better in the drills this year is positive. Yet some people in here just want to find any excuse to crap all over him. Which is fine, it's a free country. But I am somewhat surprised that people who do that would be shocked when someone offers a rebuttal argument that is actually based in facts.

I don’t give a F what OP said. I didn’t reply to what he initially said. I didn’t reply to your argument of what he said. I replied to his follow up post that said "last year those in the media were pumping Reagor up” with a bunch of articles fluffing him up. Because I agree there was a lot of articles pumping him up last year.

I didn’t add anything else or make any mention of Hurts, so take the argument up with him.

I liked the story.  I only watched it once and that was when it first came out so my memory of it isn't the best but I just remember liking it and seeing Sandler in a different, not-canteen boy sort of role was refreshing.

the amount of people they got involved in this movie is awesome. Tons of philly easter eggs too. Theyre in the 6ers arena, their practice facility. You see a federal donuts t-shirt. Ishkabibbles reference, etc...

cliche sports movie. But very fun for a philly fan. and even moreso if you really know some things about the city.

Actually took the time to watch the 2nd quarter of the NBA Finals.  I see Golden State is still lofting up 80% of their FG attempts from beyond 3-point range.

Such a terrible thing for basketball when they win.  Almost unwatchable

It's why if the Warriors lose these Finals, it's safe to say they are the most overrated dynasty in basketball history.  They live and die by the 3.

FYP

Boston just wants it more than Golden State. They're willing to work for each basket, Golden State wants it to come easy.

Are you talking about Basketball or Jalen Hurts?

Bad take. We’re watching the best shooter in the history of the game play.

Am I crazy, or does Hurts look way more lean this year? Don't expect it to impact his performance much, but it's still interesting that he seemed to make that a priority.

I don’t watch basketball to see one guy chucking it up like George Costanza all night.  It isn’t entertaining.  What else does he do?  He’s barely in the top 20 all-time in PPG, if shooting is supposed to be his stock-in-trade

He might be the most prolific long-distance chucker, but I wouldn’t pay a nickel to go watch him play

For the salary cap-conscious posters in here, Andrew Brandt gives a pretty good breakdown of salary cap manipulation — "cash over cap” strategy that is utilized by large market owners such as the Rams.  Howie does many of these same strategies, ostensibly because Lurie has money on hand.  Talks about cash bonuses, voidable years, dead money, etc.

I've seen numerous times that ratings for the Finals are down.

The entire playoffs the ratings are higher but I'm talking about the Finals.  At least that's what I've seen.

Guy is amazing.  Problem is young kids are going to try to emulate him and most won't come close.

I enjoy the game now but I have a feeling in 10 years or so I won't be interested in the NBA anymore.

That's a shame, because Curry is easily the most entertaining basketball player I have ever seen play.
