Avs will be a good match , in the end I think Lightning when three in a row .

Makar is a hell of a talent and fun to watch

Tbh losing Kadri hurts the avs but i actually think they are one of the few teams that can match the offensive firepower that the lightning have. That said i think it comes down to goaltending in this series. I trust vasileskiy much more than kuemper and francouz. If tampa wins i think that’s why. I suspect it goes 7 games. If tampa commits the penalties it could wind up costing them more than in this past series. Rangers were 5-16 which is 31.3%. That’s pretty high percentage. I think the avs have more firepower to make them pay.

I'm sorry I brough such a depressing topic into the blog.  A little back story without too much detail. I met my friend 12 years ago during an AF commissioning program. He was on top of the world

Whewwww that KO was crazy

My son hit great today at the derby. No homeruns but hard hit singles. 3 were almost to the fence but line drives.  Hit every ball except one.

Kids on his team took 1st and second place in the derby.

Championship game moved to Tuesday. If he hits like that again he will be an RBI machine. Think he bounced back.

This made me laugh lmao

I’m really excited about our Linebackers. Just the potential. And the D Line. We might actually stop some running plays this year

Hopefully Taylor can stay healthy and become the wlb of the future.  I know they signed white.  It would be better if Taylor was the one that emerged for salary cap reasons alone.

Give Tyrod Tebow a chance?

what qualifies as news in 2022.  Give me Michael Jackson dangling a baby off the balcony any day over someone taking their pictures down.

He’s stretching out his biceps in the first picture and then compacting them In The second, you do the same arm motions yourself, you’ll see that variance.

This was him last season:

Those pictures are very misleading

He has a weird weird cult like following...like seriously they will look for anything to celebrate

My son was selected for the in house all star game this year. mix between player/coach pitch. Clearly one of the best hitters in the league(probably one of the worst fielders) but anyways. The greatest news of my life he goes ..... "Can we make the all star game my last baseball game."

Baseball and flag football were death. We didnt do soccer. (thankfully) He's on Ice, Dek, LAX, and some golf lessons.

My son sounds like yours. Not great with the glove yet. But good hitter.

We didnt sign him up for all star consideration cause there are some golden gloves who can hit. As the year went on, I started thinking my son may have been able to make it. Not as a starter but as maybe the 10-12th player on the team. Maybe shoulda done it.

But we had already signed him up for soccer in the summer instead anyway. Will see how he likes that.

I was never a baseball guy. Never played it myself. Never got too in to following it on TV. But I LOVE the little league season. We are lucky to have a great organization, and a beautiful complex and park to play in. Such a nice setup, great, great people, lots of friends for the kids to play with. And our concession stand is awesome. I hope one or both of my kids want to play as long as they possibly can.

My kid has zero interest in sports, he likes dinosaurs and building stuff...🤷‍♂️

My son is insanely big for his age and the sports world would be his oyster but he doesnt care too much either.

He's 55 ish inches and 98lbs and just turned 7.  I'm doing sports with him to keep him active, learn the team building crap, keep him out of trouble and MAYBE hope something clicks.

But as of right now... It's mythsbusters, the military,  engineer marvels and anything else on the History/Discovery channel.

Wow he is big.

Sounds like he's having fun so that's good!

A couple of decades ago I was coaching my son in little league.  Half the kids didn't even know how to play the game.  Basic things like outs, balls, strikes, run on a ground ball, etc.

How would they know if they never watched the game like we did growing up?

OL studiers of the blog, what do you think about this article?

I think Kempski is the worst beat writer covering Philly sports.  I would put more stock in an Eagles article written by Pee Wee Herman

I learned all the basics playing kickball on the playground at school. Back then the age we started was 8, so the playground stuff was all we had.

My son has watched football and basketball with me but doesn't really pay attention or care, he does though watch me play Madden or other sports games and cheers when I score😄

My wife and I have gone back and forth on whether or not to sign him up for sports, when I was a kid I just played because all my friends did, but most my kids friends don't play sports either so...🤷‍♂️

The best thing that could’ve happened to that organization was Columbus upsetting and beating them in the first round in 2019. Theyve been way more focused and confident in any situation they come across. Even down 2-0 vs. rangers and Toronto they just got stronger and better as the games played on. Plus Vasilevskiy at 27 is slowly becoming what Patrick Roy, Martin brodeur and hasik were in their primes. That kid absolutely phenomenal.

the rangers Igor Shesterkin is going to be an absolute stud for a long time too. by the end of the game 5 it was obvious the lightning were just much better than the rangers and dictating the play but Igor kept the rangers in it so they had a chance to potentially steal game 5 and 6.

Depressing to realize how far the Flyers are from even being a good team, let alone a playoff contender.  The latest trash the local media is pushing out is that Cam York is next in line and they are only a few players away.  The fact of the matter is there isn't one player on the roster I wouldn't trade away.  Depressing times for Flyers fans.

Any time die hard flyers fan or media brings up prospects with the flyers i chuckle. Legitimately feel like they overrate their prospects and hype them up so much that they never live up to the expectations. I remember a couple years back about how Morgan frost was going to be the greatest thing since slice bread when you talked to die hard flyers fans. He’s ok not nearly what he was made out to be nor untouchable like many flyers fans made him.

4for4 and I talked about this about 3-4 years ago. After they had a streak of make and miss the playoffs for about 6-7 years. At that point should’ve convinced G to drop his NTC and deal him at peak value. Along with voracek before he signed that massive extension and simmonds. They weren’t winning anything with that core. They should’ve stockpiled young prospects and draft picks to do a full rebuild. Instead they tried to win a cup with a flawed  and not good enough core and rebuild. Neither worked and now you have to do basically a complete rebuild

Probably around 2014 or so when the Penguins were in the dumpster and the Flyers had this wealth of "can't miss prospects", one of the local media outlets wrote an article about how the Penguins were doomed for the next decade and the Flyers were built to win multiple cups.  Funny/sad how things have worked out.

I don’t think the flyers are bad drafting over the last 5-6 years. Although the Nolan Patrick pick with who went after him looks really bad but most of the guys they draft that pan out and develop are just mediocre to solid NHL players. The last time they really drafted a stud level player might be who I’d argue both is good not great. This team for years now have lacked good puck moving defensemen. Even when they lost to the islanders and beat the habs, it was a huge issue. They can’t get the puck out of their own end and up the ice.

I’d add they’ve also say since they traded Jeff Carter they haven’t had a premiere goal scorer. G could score but he is more of a playmaker that can give you 25-30 goals. Voracek wasn’t a great goal scorer. Simmonds wasn’t an elite goal scorer. TK had a streak of 3 straight years with 24 goals. Then has declined the past 2 years. Last time the flyers had a 35+ goal scorer was hartnell in 2011-12. Last time they had a 40 was 08-09.

also feels like for years their power play has been bad. In the last 5 years they only finished top half of the league once and it was barely top half. Twice they were bottom 10 and this year the worst.

Just saw Jalen Hurts was ranked the “#1 explosive runner in the league” by some publication. I don’t know what that means or how they figure that out, but I don’t like it.

Tyrod Tebow is mobile af....wish he'd throw it to Watkins more earlier in his route so he could have that tag....but who the hell knows if he can consistently

Well, some view Jalen as "RB1" so I guess "#1 explosive runner in the league" is good ........ I guess:unsure:
