How have we not talked about this yet?  Fast forward to 47second mark.  Jalen Hurts in a do rag, clearly with fresh dread locks.  MVP here it comes.

Is position on the Alabama depth chart a stat?  If so, he finished second in that one too.

You clear up that groin rash yet?  I wouldn’t worry. It’s probably just AIDS.

I actually think he will improve, wait for it.......as a passer.

Now the question is how much and will it be enough.  His passing ability has alot of room for improvement, I mean like alot.

They threw that "coming out of college” qualifier in for a reason 😤

I think he’ll be the same guy he was last season.  AJ Brown has a career 62.7% catch rate so his presence alone won’t make Hurts a more efficient passer.  Hurts needs to make the conscious decision to win from the pocket in order to develop into the QB the Eagles need; I don’t think he has the motivation to do so.  I think he wants to win from the sandlot after the play breaks down

He can’t even stay in the pocket for 7v7’s

Too basic. You need to think outside the box more for excuses. Don’t forget Henry Ruggs situation was used to blame poor performance.

I’d argue reason Barnett didn’t was cause he commits horrific penalties that hurts the team and I’d argue has been the same player or even regressed over the past couple years

Back up level out put plus penalties.

Bama 78 active players,

LSU 72,

OSU 69,

Georgia 61,

Notre Dame 52, Florida 51, Michigan 50,

8th is Oklahoma, 9th Iowa, 10th Penn state.

I'd pick best available from those schools future each draft pick for the foreseeable future.

RIght.  Why even consider players from the other schools that produced Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers, Justin Herbert, Russell Wilson, Josh Allen, Dak Prescott, Jonathan Taylor, Christian McCaffrey, Dalvin Cook, Alvin Kamara, Cooper Kupp, Davante Adams, Stefon Diggs, Tyreek Hill, Deebo Samuel, Travis Kelce, Darren Waller, George Kittle, T.J. Watt, Aaron Donald, Khalil Mack, Myles Garrett, Von Miller, Robert Quinn, etc etc.?  You'd have to be inane to even consider drafting guys like that who went to the soft schools those guys did.

Of course you consider it, but the "bigger" colleges produce more quality across the board, yeah?

PFF: Eagles offensive line ranks #1 in the NFL for 2022

There may not be a single below-average starter along the Eagles' offensive line. Pair that with arguably the best tackle duo in the NFL, and there’s no debate about which team's offensive line belongs at No. 1 heading into 2022. Jordan Mailata's incredible development at left tackle can't be understated. After not playing a snap in his first two NFL seasons, Mailata went from spot starter at left tackle in 2020 to the third-highest-graded player at the position in the NFL last season.

It really can't be understated just how astonishing Mailata's rise is, it's surreal. From never playing football to a top 5 and climbing LT in the NFL. Wow.

I imagine they produce quality in an amount equal to the proportion of high level recruits they get and develop versus other schools, no more no less.  Of course there are plenty of high-level recruits at Alabama and Ohio State and Notre Dame and the like because they are good at recruiting high school talent ... but the suggestion was literally to draft from *only* the top 10 schools, and going into a draft determined to limit yourself only to recruits at certain schools is about as silly an idea as there is -- it is how you end up with players like JaMarcus Russell at QB, Ki-Jana Carter at RB, David Terrell at WR, Ken McAfee at TE, Vernon Gholston at LB and Bernard Williams at LT.  Let's not pretend that players from top schools do not bust in the NFL.

You can't literally limit to those schools but to make those a priority makes sense. They play against tougher competition and generally produce higher end talent. Of course big schools have busts, but at a much lower rate than small schools. For every guy listed above from a small school, there are probably 5-6 from those 10 schools.

Excluding this past draft, these are the top schools the Eagles have drafted from since 2010. They have drafted from 59 different schools over that period. It is kind of surprising the lack of SEC schools in the top 5 with only LSU (highest drafted LSU player was Bennie Logan in the 3rd round), but with this past draft Georgia would also move up to the top 5. Also, Alabama was 0 until they drafted Smith and Dickerson in 2021.
