If the ladies claim there were sex acts performed,  and accept a cash settlement, isn't that basically prostitution allowed by the court?

I'm sorry I brough such a depressing topic into the blog.  A little back story without too much detail. I met my friend 12 years ago during an AF commissioning program. He was on top of the world

Krafts lawyers got the video thrown out and determined it was a violation of his 4th amendment rights. It was illegal for the NFL to even have or review the video. Subsequently all his chargers were dismissed and the only thing NFL investigators could even do is talk to witnesses who were unwilling or have Kraft admit everything to them. There was no basis for them to punish him. Completely different than what Watson is going through.

Jones is a slimeball but still a different situation than what Watson has. Snyder I won't argue. But I think they are just trying to kick him out of the league at this point.

Jameis Winston was suspended for 3 games for allegedly groping an Uber drive which he settled out of court in 2017. 1 case and he got 3 games. 24 cases and only 4 to 6 doesn't make sense.

Winston is a good comparison.  Big Ben got 4 reduced to three for two alleged rapes. Don’t think any of Watson’s accusers assert rape.  Hence my 4-6 suggestion.  It wasn’t illegal for the NFL to view the tape under the 4th Amendment but possibly under FL state law.   That said, "no basis” to punish him isn’t exactly true.  Take Winston, no criminal trial there.   But you can’t ignore Snyder.

Yes, the Florida Supreme Court ruled it was a violation of his 4th amendment rights and made it illegal for anyone to obtain copies and inadmissible in court. All the tapes were destroyed.

And it is clear they did not want justice, they wanted money.

Finished the pod last night while walking the dog. Man, I think the only source they used for that one was Dave Spadaro.

Yup  Their gruel got thin when Doug's coaching staff left. The sourcing outside of the Eagles is still decent, but inside, it's Spuds and MacPherson. Cosell might push gossip onto them

And lol

Yeah. It seems to me it would be different if it was proven in court that these acts were forced, and non-consensual. But the women have decided they dont care to take it to that point. They have now openly implied that theyd be happy to take money for their services instead.  It seems that now a judge is just writing a legal contract dictating the price Watson must pay each prostitute.

Weird.

Any thoughts on what the Sixers are going to do in draft and FA ??  I know Eagles board but draft is in 2 days.

Any realistic deals you would like?

That would only be true if it got to court. Whether they'll be happy or not with these settlements none of us can say with certainty, although the amount of cynicism each of us carries might vary. For my part, I sensed an implied threat of violence at a minimum and violent acts in several cases. It is not clear to me that all these women are prostitutes.

I obviously haven't watched wrestling in quite a few years.  Vince McMahon looks ready to pass on, wow.  I know he's 76 now -- but he looks very 86.

Another off topic:

Talking to someone who dated a woman recently. She is an admitted bisexual. Says she's done with women though.

I know the perfect bisexual woman to add to the fun. She knows her too.

Question:

What's the polite way to ask a woman you've just started seeing if she'd be down with adding another woman to the mix? Too soon??

Weren't the girls Kraft was getting tugged by underage girls who were being trafficked ?

I don't think so, but out of curiosity would this carry a stiffer penalty?  Asking for a friend....

I’m guessing the stress of having to pay Oliver Luck his money in the settlement and then this whole sex scandal cover up is taking its toll on him. Plus I’m pretty sure he did some roids when he was younger

It just seems odd that instead of taking it to court, they are allowed to choose to accept money instead.

I feel like if you make these allegations your only option should be taking to to criminal court, or dropping it with no monetary settlement (because accepting money for sex is illegal).

There was a tweet showing Gronkowski at Arizona.  Here's a name I forgot about...Willie Tuitama.  Thought he was going to be great.

@e-a-g-l-e-s eagles! was he overhyped?  What ever happened to him?

@TorontoEagle  Chime in here.  Time to put your life experiences to good use.

Man receives sexual services and ultimately pays woman for it. Seems like prostitution/dating/marriage to me.
