I'm sorry I brough such a depressing topic into the blog.  A little back story without too much detail. I met my friend 12 years ago during an AF commissioning program. He was on top of the world

Unheralded player to surprise: Jalen Hurts

Solid player that takes the next step towards high end/stardom: Jalen Hurts

Established player that disappoints: Jalen Hurts

Most improved 2nd year player: Jalen Hurts

Player from the last 2 drafts that disappoints: Jalen Hurts

I had to cover all bases this season for maximum bragging rights

Just watched this. Asante Samuel is kind of full of himself but it was interesting hearing him and Shady’s perspective.

Taylor is actually a very under discussed player this offseason, it will be interesting to see what happens there. Probably his last chance to show something if he wants a role going forward, and the LB room is actually full for once (kinda, grading on a Philly scale).

Why let facts get in the way of a good story.  Shady is a scumbag.

Well those facts actually help his story so not sure what your point is.

Here’s hoping Shady has grown up over the years. His media presentations over the last few months seem to show a person that is in a good mental place.

I mean I don't think it being Clay Harbor or Celek makes a difference in the story.  Harbor's follow up tweet is great:

Oh man, I would love for this to happen. We have some Browns guys in the front office now, maybe they will make a strong recommendation

I don't think Sanders is the future so that would be awesome. Although I wouldn't give up much for a RB

Clay Harbor highlights...

They should look to dump Sileo. They would be a pretty legit source without him.

We had four fourth round picks that one year, and the best of the four turned out to be Clay Harbor.

In all fairness, I think that was the year they knocked it out of the park with Nate Allen in the second and Daniel Te’o-Nesheim in the third.

Alright...question for the dog days of the offseason.  Give a name for each of the following:

Unheralded player to surprise:  Kenny Gainwell.  I think he's way overrated by the fan base but the Eagles RB situation isn't too exciting.  Gainwell pushes Sanders for snaps.

Solid player that takes the next step towards high end/stardom:  Landon Dickerson.  Wasn't a fan due to injuries.  Proved me wrong.  Pushes Nelson for nastiest OG in the NFL.

Established player that disappoints:  Darius Slay.  Wrong side of 30, superb last year.  Can see him taking a step back.

Most improved 2nd year player:  Milton Williams.  I think he can be a force if used right.  I'd love to see him settle in as DT3 instead of trying to use him as a heavy DE.  Let him use his quickness inside.

Player from the last 2 drafts that disappoints: Current class plus 2021 or the previous two classes?  I'm gonna say Jordan Davis.  Not that he disappoints but his production will be low.  He's part of a stacked DT group and his snap counts could trend very low.

Hated the Te'o'Nesheim pick so much.  Sad the guy killed himself.

So far, besides the Patriots, who are going with their throwback Pat Patriot uniforms, the 2nd shell rule has been a huge let down.  You're given the freedom to create a whole new helmet and the Texans and Panthers use their exact same helmet and just make it a different color.  Expect the same with the Eagles stupid black helmet.  So much for creativity.

It’s not clear that was a suicide. Maybe it was, but who knows? But yeah, it was sad his life ended like that.

He had real good combine numbers that year, so I can see why they took him mid third. Incidentally, that happened to be a year where there was on obvious shift in draft strategy (like two years ago when they made an obvious effort to draft for speed). They went heavy for "combine kings” that year. That was not something in their repertoire prior to that year. Keenan Clayton was another guy who killed it at the combine. I think Harbor was another one who had a big combine.

The pick I hated that year was Allen. Not at the time, mind you. But about midway through his rookie year, obviously before he got hurt, I came to the conclusion that he was massively overrated and was never going to more than a JAG. I remember Gil Brandt raving about him, and I just laughed. Gil doesn’t know jack about a lot of the stuff he espouses and I laugh when his pompous ass is wrong.

My point is, he’s wrong.   Why the F do you care? His name isn’t Hurts.  No need to swing your purse.

I mean, ok.  Thanks for the input.  I mean Shady is a slim ball.

Are you generally this irritating IRL?

If there was ever a pick they needed to nail, it was the Nate Allen pick.  He was the pick they got in return for Donovan.  Granted, trading McNabb was the right move, but to use the collateral on your franchises best (can be argued) QB of all time on a reach at safety...woof.  Some good talent was taken after him in the 2nd round.  Gronk, Golden Tate, Sean Lee, Lamarr Houston, Carlos Dunlap, Linval Joseph to name a few.

Everything is subjective I suppose.  IMO those old Patriots uniforms, especially the helmets, were garbage.  At least it harkens back memories from before the organization became cheating scumbags.

Hurts sucks. Draw a picture of that with a box of crayons

These look nice for the Panthers.

I wonder when we will see the black Eagles helmet they are using this year.

Not saying they don't look nice.  Just lazy.   Sure, go with a black helmet but change up the striping, use a different logo.

I'm sure you'll get more creative designs in the years to come. Eagles introduced this rule change and even they missed the deadline to submit for the Kelly Green alts fort his first season.

You think the MB is like real life?   You truly are an idiot.

Can’t be argued. McNabb was the franchises best QB.  Anyone who argues it, has some weird hate for him.

So you prefer to go around insulting people behind the safety of your PC but can’t IRL. That’s the person you are?
