Murray is a good player, who is now so overpaid his team has no chance at winning a SB.

Tbh they didnt have a chance until they fire kingsbury anyway. So they were basically wasting his rookie contract and not going to win either. 

that said murray has had the same issues every year. Starts off hot, then gets banged up and is a shell of himself by seasons end. Add on every game he has 2-3 WTF are you doing moments (rams playoff game is one of the many examples). Until he finds solutions for those two problems they were never winning.

I’ll disagree. I didn’t want him either way. He’s immature. He has durability issues. And he has some of the same flaws he’s had since entering the league. Add on signing him in free agency he’s likely getting over what the cardinals gave him. No thanks 

How are teams fitting these $40+mil QB contracts into their caps? What % of total cap space is that?

And a receiver at $20+mil?

Murray is not a top 10 QB, never won a division title, hasnt won a playoff game and has a losing record for his career. Not to mention the durability concerns and the fact that his height limits their passing offense. Cardinals got bent over but it's not like they had much of a choice. He's a good player but that contract pretty much guarantee's they wont win a Super Bowl in the next 5 years.

This has nothing to do with Hurts.  Not a wise move for any organization to give this kind of money to a guy with maturity issues.  Throwing a fit about going back into a playoff game that you're losing should have been red flag enough for them to look to move on from him instead of committing to him to this extent. 

Where are you all getting this idea that we would have gone after Murray?

Tbh I’d surprised if he doesn’t get a better contract than murray unless he just has a catastrophic injury this year. Murray has had his own durability issues, hasn’t won a playoff game or mvp. 

Had to come back and edit this....my math was terrible.  I thought Murray only had a full season on Hurts but he has 25 more games under his belt.

I like Kingsbury. Not love, but like. but wouldnt blame his QB falling apart the last 6 games every year his fault. 

Because dating back to his time at Texas tech he’s had consistently the same issue. I know hard time believe every team in his coaching career has seen this trend and think it might just be kingsbury’s issue as well. 

is that enough of a track record or do you just ignore he had the same issue in college as well? Murray had his issues. He’s up there as part of their problem. But so does kingsbury. And he had mahomes in college for some of that.
