Vikings should have a purple helmet. Think of the implications!

I'm sorry I brough such a depressing topic into the blog.  A little back story without too much detail. I met my friend 12 years ago during an AF commissioning program. He was on top of the world

legit or nah

Legit

We can only hope the Eagles wear their black helmets and black pants so we get a classic looking Eagles/Cards matchup.

I always used to love when the Eagles would play at Arizona back in the day because they would often have to wear the Kelly Green on a natural grass surface.  Always was a visually appealing game to watch.  Even though geographically it made no sense to have them in the NFCE, they were always a challenge.  Larry Centers, Jake Plummer, Eric Swann, Rob Moore, Aneas Williams.  Annoyingly good players to watch.

Also, I know a lot of guys out there say who cares about uniforms and helmets but there are a lot of people, myself included who love the visual aspect of the game of football.  As a kid, the colors of the gumball machine helmets got me hooked and ever since, I've been just a geek about uniforms, equipment and such.

If my team just attached their future to Murray for the next 5 years, I'd try to find a way to get excited by helmet colors too.

Who shines or disappoints in camp? I have Tay Gowan shining

He's been getting talked up a bit as of late by some of the Philly twitter media.  I can see his measurables and athletic ability really displaying well in 1-on-1's.

Carson Strong shines. Hurts disappoints.

Won't lie. Saw that first hashtag and thought a fat Chip Kelly had somehow found his way back into the Eagles organization.

Kyler is way better than he gets credit for at this point. I would have told you he was a little overrated a year ago, but now the public consensus is way too low on him. He's overpaid, but such is the life in the NFL for any good QB now.

Scored a TD against us in that week 18 exhibition….

What areas are we downplaying him in?

He's an electric playmaker. Defensive coordinators are getting no sleep all week preparing for him. He just needs an inch to make a big play. He's excellent as a runner and he's a solid passer. His deep passing is pretty damn good. He could tighten up his short and intermediate passing accuracy.

He's a really nice QB to have in today's NFL. I don't know if I would have paid him that kind of money, but your team could do much much worse. He's a top 10-12 QB.

He has some pluses to him, but most people point to his inability to work from the pocket.  Which negates the middle 3/4 of the field.  He's prone to frequent brain farts and spends too much time in the tub.  He's massively overpaid.  I'd put him in that 11-20ish area....good enough to keep you in purgatory, but I reserve the top 10 for guys that can take you to a SB possibly.  I personally just don't see that with him.

Yeah, there's no doubt about that. He likes to leave the pocket and is very jumpy inside it. He's got some flaws for sure, and I'm not his biggest fan. I just think people have gone overboard with it because of the contract dispute and how they finished the season. He wasn't the only one who stunk it up at the end of the season on that team.

Burrow and Herbert have to be ecstatic at that Murray contract.  Herbert has a 5,000 yard passing season while Murray has never hit 4,000.  Burrow got his team to the Super Bowl while Murray has never won a playoff game.

ARI is about to feel the pain of paying a slightly better than average QB like one of the top 3 players in the world.  Murray is somewhere in the 12-14 range of NFL QBs, and that ranking is more likely to slip than rise over the next few years.  With him counting about $52M against their 2024 salary cap, their window just got very short.

Feel similarly about Murray as I do Carson. Is it tough to get guys that talented? Yes. Are you gonna win anything with those guys? Nope.

How would we know?   They don’t have real practices and they limit the coverage.  There is no camp anymore.

It still amazes me that the chargers have had two (potentially for rivers) hall of fame QBs (Brees and then rivers) and then Herbert right after Rivers leaves and then retires. Since 2002 it’s been Brees, Rivers or herbert as the guy at QB

WRs can be delusional about their QBs.

I see what you did there.

As camp starts, I am most interested to see how Hurts looks entering his 3rd rookie season.
