Cards adding a clause in the contract to make sure Murray studies is very questionable to me. Why give him this mega deal if his work ethic wasn't good?

Because there’s going to be no better options.

I'm sorry I brough such a depressing topic into the blog.  A little back story without too much detail. I met my friend 12 years ago during an AF commissioning program. He was on top of the world

We (the EMB) currently sit at just over 940,000 posts. We're on pace for about 40,000 posts for the month of May. So it's looking like we'll break 1,000,000 posts within the first couple of weeks of J

They are the facts currently available.  It is up to Lamar Jackson to change those facts in the future, which he will not.

Uh huh. Thank you for that enlightenment.

The facts are that he's already won an MVP and is top 10 in passer rating and TD-INT ratio all-time because he's "one-dimensional." How's that for facts?

That doesn't mean you just give that contract to a player who is like that

Regular Season Super Hero. Cool, I guess

Yeah, he magically loses his super powers come January apparently.

I wonder if you can tell which teams are good and bad by just this stat from Lamar.  This is his MVP season

Not sure where you are getting those numbers from, I just went to that same site, and sorted the passing TD's column, those numbers are not legit.

The odds for tannehill are fascinating as he finished with with 3rd most in the league last year with 14. And Stafford had 17 and was tied for first.

It is easy to keep passer rating and TD-INT ration high when you throw way less than actual QB's.

He was 26th in passing attempts his MVP season, 200+ attempts behind the top 5 QB's in passing attempts.

Too bad. Those are the facts, mike. Do with them what you will. #facts

Plus, what you said makes no sense. Those are his career numbers. What the hell does throwing only 200 times per season have to do with it?

Yes, those facts are he can inflate his numbers against inferior opponents in the regular season, but hits the wall in the playoffs when NFL defenses sell out to stop his running and make him win from the pocket.  It has been, and will always be the same story for RB's masquerading as QB's.

You're running in circles now lol. I present facts that prove he's top 10 in passer rating and TD-INT ratio. Every team plays against inferior competition in the regular season. Every team plays against teams that have to scheme for certain things. You guys call him one-dimensional but now can't accept that he has very good career number. Makes no sense.

When you only compare black players to black players, and white players to white players, yes you're looking at it through race.

Why is every white WR still compared to Wes Welker?

Wrong, I compare every white receiver to Steve Largent.

And yeah, the team was a joke the first half of the year and then figure out that a college style will get you some wins in the second half of the season.  Because the QB and HC sucked.  Since then we had a nice offseason.  Let's see where that takes us.  But to try make a GB jealous of what we have/had is rather silly.

I don't think they should be jealous of us unless we draft the next Aaron Rodgers in 2023.

I’ve viewed lamar jackson as similar to ben Simmons in that regular season accolades arent Matched in the playoffs. Now Ben has a huge mental off the court issue going on and i don’t think he actually loves to play.

But regular season you see on the surface Ben Simmons is averaging 16-8-8 and is a 3x all star. On the surface most would say he’s a good player. but then the postseason comes around and when team/he ran into better teams they’d expose him for what he isn’t and he struggles.

Lamar (outside of last year), has been really good in the regular season and even won an mvp. But playoffs begin and better teams/contenders begin to expose him for his flaws and what he’s not.

I don’t know if lamar ever overcomes his issues but I’d bet on him way more than Simmons. Just pointing regular season vs. playoffs similar things happen to them.

The concerning trend with Lamar Jackson is that he's been progressively less dynamic each season since 2019 and his passing production has diminished similarly.  36 TDs passing in 2019, 26 TDs passing in 2020, and only 16 TDs passing in 2021.  He missed time last season -- but the passing attempts are actually similar season to season.  He's getting less prolific and less efficient in the passing game as well.

To be honest I wouldn’t pay him what he is looking for. I would trade him and get a good return from a team that believes in him. Once he gets that big payday it’s much harder to keep the level of talent around him to keep him upright and function at the highest level

last year the ravens had a ton of injuries all over the place. you saw what happen with inferior players around him. He got beat up and he wasn’t able to make it through the year or play at the level we’ve seen in the past as the season carried on. That concerns me that if I have less cap space because I’m giving him $50 million that I can put enough around him so that he can play at the level we need him to and survive the regular season.

imo in the afc i don’t think he’s good enough in the postseason to beat some of the better teams (better defenses) with better QBs. Also i think his style is going to wear on him so your window isn’t the next decade. It’s likely 3 to maybe 5 years. Like embiid you aren’t getting a massive window of time. And i don’t see the ravens having a top 3 team this year in the afc.

He knows his stuff but he mumbles too much

Sorry a bit behind and trying to catch up. Murray has homework as part of his contract? LOL

Did Lamar get a new contract? Curious why he's being brought up for so many pages

I guess reading comprehension escapes you, much like playoff success for running QBs
