I know it's old news, but really bummed that Sheil Kapadia is heading to the Ringer.  That likely makes Birds with Friends an intolerable podcast, with Bo Wulf going unchecked.

Other than Bleeding Green Nation, why do the Eagles podcasts feature someone who ruins it?  Adam Caplan, Reuben Frank, Bo Wulf.  I like what Berman, Zangaro, and Mosher have to say, but I can't deal with listening to their partners.  A shame they can't shuffle the deck and put all the annoying guys on one show.

I'm sorry I brough such a depressing topic into the blog.  A little back story without too much detail. I met my friend 12 years ago during an AF commissioning program. He was on top of the world

I’ve said for a couple years they really need to let Marcus hayes and ESP do a podcast called the dumpster fire hot take podcast. So we can see  who listens to it and eliminates the part of the fan base

Cool. You guys are gonna nitpick every little thing.

He threw the ball where only his guy could get it and the receiver made the play. Also it’s the fuucckking second day of camp.

You're right, my apologies.

Forgot it was the second day already; that was marginal as a first day throw

From Bo Wulfs article on the Athletic from yesterdays practice.  Just some snippets, but reading all of it, Gainwell had 4 or 5 TD's on the day.

10:23 a.m. — Full-team red zone action to start us off. As expected, we see a variety of looks from the defensive front. With four down linemen, it’s Brandon Graham and Josh Sweat on the outside with Milton Williams and Javon Hargrave in the middle and, for the first snap at least, no Haason Reddick on the field. Two plays later, Graham and Reddick are standing up, Sweat is off the field and Marlon Tuipulotu joins a defensive line of three big bodies.

10:51 a.m. — Back to 11-on-11 in the red zone. "Intensity!” yells Sirianni. "Last period.”

On the second play, Hurts throws an actual interception. He tries to muscle in a pass to Goedert to his left, only for Epps to undercut the throw and make a smooth interception. Probably the play of the day for the safety who was also name-dropped before practice by Roseman as the primary reason the team feels better than some might about its safety group.

Hurts then hits Watkins for a touchdown on a pre-planned rollout to his right before ending the period with a sack for the defense. Credit the sack to Reddick, who finally got to do what he does best.

From the Athletic training camp preview

3. Keeping the pass catchers happy

There have been seasons when the Eagles’ biggest problem during training camp was the lack of capable receivers, so nobody will offer sympathy to them now as they strive to keep their pass catchers happy. Nonetheless, the passing distribution is worth monitoring. The Eagles acquired A.J. Brown with the expectation that he will be among the NFL’s elite wide receivers. DeVonta Smith is capable of being a top receiver after a promising rookie campaign. The Eagles made Dallas Goedert one of the highest-paid tight ends, and Goedert is now in his first full season post-Zach Ertz. Considering that the Eagles succeeded as a run-first team last year, pay attention to how Sirianni and Hurts can keep this group happy.

"The secret there? Win,” Sirianni said. "I think those are selfless guys. Now that doesn’t always work with every guy. But I think these guys are selfless guys. And if we’re winning, I think it will be good. Listen, the game plan will go through those three guys.”

He had to jump and go full extension, it was not a good throw.

Here is what a back shoulder throw should look like.

2nd throw in this video is the same part of the endzone.  The receiver did not have to jump, extend or break stride.

Did he have to jump? Was it over his head? Or by jumping did he make it a much more difficult catch? Also, you have no idea where Madox was when the ball was released. The video doesn't show him until the end. But the fact that he ended up next to him on the ground seems to indicate he was pretty close. But i guess your attempt at film study showed us all your level of football knowledge, so that was helpful.

The second throw of the video I posted shows how you should throw that.

Yeah, it also showed how you run that route. Jumping for a ball that isn't over your head seems suboptimal.

If you are happy with that throw, fine, I am not.  I prefer my back shoulder throws low that do not put the receiver in harms way.

He also threw ten miles behind his BFF, too.

Probably another back shoulder throw in the middle of the field.

Looking good for you in our bet @TorontoEagle

Has to.  Absolutely has to.

550 pass attempts in a season.  Brown should get 130 targets, Smith 110 targets, Goedert 100 targets.  That's 340 and still 210 targets available for the RBs, Watkins, Pascal, Reagor, etc. to split between them.

The key is the QB has to do more distributing and less running.  Has to happen.  29 pass attempts per game like last season isn't gonna get it done.

Someone on NFL Network said his bold prediction was that Kenny Gainwell takes over the RB1 spot from Sanders.

He did have 4 or 5 TD's in yesterdays first day of practice.

So did Hurts.

Seems Gainwell has some real competition for that RB spot.

Inquirer is completely behind a paywall now?  Any kind soul want to throw their coverage up in 411?  Curious about the article about Calcaterra "shining".  It's McLane but ill give it a read if i can

Biggest update from today's training camp.  Despite today only being a walk through, Hurts still decided to run with the football.  Because swag.

So, I assume the Eagles are still undefeated in TC.

1) Packers

2) Chargers

3) Steelers

I remember a conversation I had with a devout McNabb hater about the 4th and 26 pass to Freddie Mitchell. He was so blinded by his extreme hatred for our quarterback that he argued the pass was terrible because it didn’t lead the receiver properly. Mitchell had to slow down and adjust his body to leap for a pass that was slightly behind him. Never mind the fact that if the ball had been thrown perfectly (where it would intersect with the precise spot that Mitchell would be running to an instant later), it would have been easily intercepted or knocked down by a Packers defender. The truth was that pass was placed in the only spot where it could have been completed.

In other words, people often see what they want to see based on their preconceived ideas about the players involved.

1) If I had to pick one, I go Packers. I trust Rodgers with junk more than Mahomes, but I truly believe the chiefs are not just better...but wAYYYYY better with out Hill.

2) Ravens.  Lamar is gonna be injuried and he's gotten worse each year

3) Patriots. Steelers have a weaker schedule and improved over last year

How does that make them more likely to make the playoffs? Are you suggesting Huntley is an upgrade for them?

Yes, he has multiple times said Huntley is a superior passer to Lamar.

You be the judge..........

Was hoping he'd have the good and bad in there and not just the good. Seems like it's either or and not both from reporters certain bloggers.
