If one doesn't think one would be found liable why would one settle? He settled because he first, had the financial means to do so and secondly he and his lawyer knew they would most likely lose in court. Even the NFL arbitrator said he was guilty, she had way more evidence than what the grand jury was presented, it was her " opinion" that his acts while wrong weren't " violent" and I disagree as do others. Like I said, whether one feels Watson is innocent or guilty or what he did just wasn't that bad or really bad the outcomes of the grand jury ruling doesn't really reflect any of that so in my opinion shouldn't be a basis to form ones opinion on the case and In doing so only minimizes what Watson did do. That is all. Dallas sucks! The cost analysis is much more than that. Law suits are often weaponised. Wealthy entities can and do crush opponents under the sheer weight of legal expenses, can drag out cases for years until their opponents concede because they can no longer meet the costs. It's one thing if you bring suit, quite another if one is brought against you.

Rumor is the offer NFL gave him was to suspend him 10 games and fine him basically the same amount he made last year without playing. Around $10M. Since he rejected it, it will be interesting to see where that number goes from here.

The one thing I would think is because it is the NFL appealing and not the player. Unless there is a chance that the NFL's appeal actually results in less games than what the Judge rules for Watson. So if he's going to miss at least 6 games no matter what then maybe he has to at least serve those 6 games and if at that point the appeal is not settles then he can probably start playing until it is settle and if that settlement then results in more games.

As tough as it is to keep up, now people are going to be bouncing around sampling a little of this, little of that... How the hell are we ever supposed to know how to refer to someone? "Hey you" works just fine.

August 4, 20223 yr A brief thread explaining how the Eagles can maximize offensive efficiency in 2022… 1. Play good 2. Score lots of points

Your math undercuts your statement. 10/10 = 1. So Stroud is 1 times over Fields or Stroud is equal to Fields. It sure that is what you meant.

He was a league worst in 2020 and a league worst again in 2021 in average time to throw — over 3.1 seconds in both years. Having him start under center where he is forced to do the entire 5 and 7-step drops seems very counter-intuitive for a QB who has been demonstrably slow going through progressions and reads. Defenses will just key on runs out of that offensive set.

It's actually really scary how this 1-2% of culture has taken over and changed a lot of what's acceptable and what they expect the rest of us to follow. For the first time ever, I said ladies first the other day and got nervous that I may have misgendered a person. It's all lock step with the birthing persons and people who menstruate stuff. Definitions being changed left and right.

I would be willing to bet there is an owner out there that has place a bigger bet than Ridley did. I understand integrity of the game but the punishment exceeds the crime on that one.

I understand this thought process, but at the same time, if we only play to his strengths, we will never see what he can actually do that can be sustained long-term. I’d rather see him be put in uncomfortable situations to see how he handles it. If he sucks at it, we get a better draft position and a new QB sooner. But maybe, just maybe, he can work through it and be the guy. Either way, we win. We lose if we keep placating to his limited strengths.

Unless Sirianni forces Hurts to go through his reads, we know he’s gonna key in on Brown and Goedert. Smith will get some targets. But beyond that, the only thing Reagor can hope for is a big play here and there on a broken play. If Reagor wants to get an opportunity to actually contribute, it’s gonna be somewhere else.
