If you look at the Eagles over the past five years, during the time the team had bruisers at RB  (Blount and later Ajayi in 2017, and later with Jordan Howard who was a beast when healthy), the team record is much better than when they either had no bruisers on the roster, or when Jordan Howard was out with injury.  The team just looked different with a healthy Howard.

Yet for some reason our coaches don’t like to use them much, and our FO won’t give out new contracts (even though Howard deserved one imo).

I agree with you, but I think the Eagles just want modern RBs that run routes and can catch.. like almost everyone.

I don't see how people can say Hamilton was the better overall prospect.  Davis is a physical freak of nature, and he's focused.  We'll see if Hamilton lives up to his billing at the next level in the NFL.

Assuming both end up being "really good” to "elite” Davis in my opinion plays the more valuable position

Uh...Josh Allen had 4407 passing and 763 rushing last year?

Herbert had 5014 passing and 302 rushing last year...

Chargers are so lucky. I think Herbert is going to be a star for a long time

And has the rare traits, too.

Kinda. Safety still biggest ? on D; but I think our rush will be good.

If we can get pressure with four, it's easier to protect your safeties in coverage.

If we need to send more pass rushers, our safeties are exposed.

Davis has the potential to be a force multiplier and raise the game of the other defenders on the field.

Maybe it’s just because I feel like I do ally understand 4-3 and that 3-4 Sam rusher is just confusing to me.

Like I get it but isn’t it just a free rusher that is out of position otherwise

You would've given Howard, as in Jordan Howard a new contract?? Why???

Peter Tosh preached about it long ago:

So you got to...

One of my favorite reggae albums.  BTW, they grow righteously good weed (ganja) in Jamaica.

He costs almost nothing, yet whenever he was on the field (for us) he looked good.

He doesn’t have to be our new starter, if he does his job as a number four that’s fine by me. Even if he is often injured. Still good value.

Yeah, I'd love to see a healthy Howard on this team.

You will see Howard signed to the team after week 1. He was on the verge of retiring last year because he had no interest. Eagles are probably the only team that will give him a look.

Kennedy Brooks and Sanders are the biggest backs right now with both at 5-11 215+. Which is not too encouraging considering we don't know how Brooks is going to perform and Sanders with his injury history.

I love Jamaica. First time there, walking along the beach by our resort, a big tall rasta approaches, and offers to take us on a tour of "da ganja fields". We politely decline, though inside I wanted to go very badly.

The resort would grill up jerk chicken on the beach everyday at lunch. Let me tell you, one of my favorite things was crushing said jerk chicken after smoking up, relaxing in the Caribbean sun with a fruity drink in hand. Pure heaven.

The only con to Jamaica was the incessant request for tips. It gets old, fast.

That's why you don't need to give him a contract.

He was about to retire because nobody showed any interest in him. No point in signing him to a contract that is fully guaranteed when the season starts. They can wait till after week 1 and sign him without a guaranteed contract.

For Heaven's sake stop with the Allen/Hurts comparison, it's not even remotely plausible.

Can Hurts improve? Yes. Can be become a Prescott level player? Maybe. Can he ever become Josh Allen? NO - he doesn't the superhero level talent that Allen has.

There's a reason Anthony Richardson is shooting up everybody's early draft boards, it's because he does have that Allen level raw talent.

If you actually read what I wrote, instead of the knee jerk reaction pushing your agenda, which is the typical MO on a message board, my point wasn't Hurts = Allen, but that he threw deep as much as Allen, BECAUSE mobility allows both QBs to buy time and let receivers get deep.

The other point is that Allen's production wasn't so spectacular that it was out of reach for Hurts if he incrementally improves. On this team, he doesn't have to engage in physical heroics, with this OL and the addition of real skilled people he just has to be more efficient. But the mobility and running makes him valuable, it helped guys like Jeff Garcia and Rich Gannon, not just running the ball, but buying time, making something out of nothing when plays break down, etc.

The key isn't Hurts suddenly developing a rocket arm, it's becoming more consistent series to series and game to game, little incremental improvements like faster reads, better mechanics, anticipating his receivers (where playing in the same scheme helps a young QB), etc.

Will he do it? Who knows? That why they play the games.

But this offense has a chance to be a juggernaut, it doesn't require a HOF QB, just someone who can pull the right levers and let the machine roll over opponents.

And Hurts doesn't have to post huge numbers, one thing I'm watching this year will be the screen game, something they haven't done well in recent years, but with this OL, they should be able to use it to make big plays. Slants to Brown are something they haven't been able to exploit b/c they haven't had that kind of WR (outside of TO for one season). Play action with this run game will open up the seam as it freezes LBs. But running the ball will be a big part of the offense, even if not to the extent of last year's second half.

No other team has any interest in him. There's no need to sign him to anything. He'll be there if they need to pick him up, and frankly, there's 0% chance he would stay healthy for any significant length of time.

Even if true, I think he deserves one. Show that if you play well and do what is asked you get a (small) contract..

If you treat your players right, that will eventually pay dividents.

The problem is you leave out the context of Hurts stats. As I pointed out with his stats from the Detroit game on, he looks vastly different.

Further, his early season stats last year came from being behind, and accumulating a lot of garbage time yards. Whereas Allen was usually in front and/or in competitive games.

Well there's also being a smart business. They treated Cox right this offseason, much to the chagrin of many in here (and from a purely business standpoint, it was a bad move). Nobody is thinking twice about not giving Howard a 2nd contract, nor should they.

Your bolded statement is out-of-date.  Making sexual determination at the chromosomal level is extremely crude.  Modern science has moved beyond chromosones to much more discrete determinations.

Tell me which, if any, parts of this statement is wrong about Biology-

"There are predominantly 2 biological sexes in Humans today representing 99% of the population, while intersex is approximately born at a rate of 1%."

I am not talking about how someone "FEELS" I am talking purely from an anotomical perspective. The Chromosomes/sexual reproductive organs as it were, determining the sex of the human.

I disagree.  From where I'm sitting, good bruiser RBs are not easy to come by.

Exactly.  He might also be able to gain a better touch though that one is tougher.  So far we haven't seen much improvement in these areas at all but he gets the bulk of this year in my mind.

I think he's damaged goods at this stage

Sure, somewhat agree with that, but we're talking about the 3rd/4th string RB. You can't do that with every player that shows hustle. Listen, I'm a pretty big Jordan Howard fan, but there is something going on with his knees/health that has caused teams to completely ignore him to the point he was going to retire. You can't give a contract to players with those kinds of concerns.

Good to know all QBs become Josh Allen once they get to their 4th year. We're almost there with Jalen!

I love how Allen has become the example of normal of what happens with QBs for every franchise now when talking about waiting on a QB for 3-4 years.

Yeah, it's insane. Josh Allen is a crazy talent. Comparing players with average to below average NFL arms is crazy. Just makes no sense.
