I'm sorry I brough such a depressing topic into the blog.  A little back story without too much detail. I met my friend 12 years ago during an AF commissioning program. He was on top of the world

When are 1st cuts?

It would be shocking if they kept Covey over Reagor.  But... I think that would be a really interesting and exciting proposition.  Covey has shake and speed that Reagor was supposed to have when he came out, then the Combine happened... and he's never recaptured that same allure.

We can only hope a team with an injury offers Howie a gallon of water ice in exchange for Reagor.

I’d agree with that quote. I got food poisoning one Christmas and spent the best part of two days in bed. Awful stuff.

August 16th.

Wes Welker/Danny Amendola type of player? I remember another small slot guy who was really good as well that started off as a UDFA as well.

I like him. I hope he works out and wins out over a guy like Ward. But a true Nasty Nate candidate has to get a lot of preseason hype. Can't think of another roster bubble guy getting the same level of preseason love right now.

Richard Seymour is up next.

We call that the Ruben Randle cuts around here

I know he never played for the eagles but he’s part of the NFL network coverage of the HOF, and I’m wondering why Willie McGinest isn’t in the HOF and I don’t think he’s been a finalist the past couple of years. It’s just something I’m wondered out loud.

Bad thing is, MiniMinshewy is having a bad camp so far. So if Hurts remains a trash, RRR™ QB (Roll Right, Run).... we need a Howie trade miracle or something.

When the HC tells you you’re not competing for #1 it makes it more likely you’ll practice like a #2

We are going to be saying that quite a few times in the regular season

First let's make it clear for everyone what the difference is between chromosomes and genes.  Chromosomes are structures within cells that contain a person's genes. Genes are contained in chromosomes.  Genes are segments of DNA that contain the code for a specific protein that functions in one or more types of cells in the body.

Now with respect to where modern science currently is, all you have to do is follow the money ... and look at the amount of funding (both private and public) that is going into genetic research, and then compare that to the funding that is going into chromosomal research.  Genetic research funding is massive (billions and billions and billions of dollars each year).  Chromosomal research funding is (to quote the old  limerick) "so small it is nothing at all."

This is babble

chromosomes are how we describe the superstructure of the dna. Trying to parse gene from chromosome is nonsense. we have known chromosomes for ages. Of course we are into sequencing more but still baffled at much of the non coding regions and whether they are regulatory or not. Plus you have epigenetic modifications that wont show in sequencing.

Maybe Minshew is struggling b/c the defense is a lot deeper and faster than last camp?

Which is good, you want your offense to face a better defense in practice than they'll see on most Sundays.

Last year's defense simply wasn't good enough to challenge the offense, especially the passing game, where you can't sack QBs in practice. They lacked speed at LB and depth in the secondary.

The fact that Dean is struggling to get PT with the 1st team shows how much the LBs have been upgraded, Bradberry is a clear upgrade, Epps has stepped up and the depth at CB is a lot better. The only weak spot is depth at safety, which is why I expect one or two CBs to start taking safety reps.

I can't argue with that. It should be a real competition. Not in Camp SiriSoft™. 😂

Haven’t really read anything good about these guys other than Covey and Blankenship.

Apparently Fayad has been ok, but we have so much depth at DL that it's hard to see him sticking.

Davis will be a mismatch against everyone he faces. I believe his impact on this team will be greater than anyone picked anywhere in the draft.

Glad to hear Opeta is having a good camp. He's the strongest lineman we have but has had balance issues. Yes, I'm serious, stronger than either Davis or Mailata. I don't believe he ever played OL until his sophomore year in college, though I may be wrong. He came here very raw but Stoutland has a lot to work with. I think he's moved ahead of Driscoll at RG, which is why Driscoll has only been working at RT.

I still can't believe Davis felt to 13. There are good WRs in every draft. Davis is a unicorn.

Opeta's 39 bench reps at the combine show up on tape. That's not true of every OL. I'm glad he's the backup OG over Driscoll, so I like more an OT.

Kennedy Brooks style of running really won’t show in unpadded practices.  Waiting to see how he does in PS games. Same with Sills.  1 on 1s favor the DL.

Bill Dunkle is going to be a great plumber

Dick vermeil is up last at the HOF. It’s not a case of if he will cry or not, but it’s a case of how many times.
