Leonard Williams casually tossing the guard aside on the way to the qb is a really good sign for us. Our division has some really bad guards and centers. 

Starting to think we should get Garappolo. Was never a fan of the guy, and we don't have the cap space. Anyway, qb play will be a disaster: missed fundamentals, lack of reads, and backyard football under pressure.

Agree. The Giants have what look to be very good tackles. Inside? Not so much. Washington lost Scherf, easily their best lineman. The rest of their OL are JAGS. Dallas has a terrible center and Tyron Smith is on the downward slope - missed 20 games in last two years. Bad back. Zack Martin is still a stud but the rest of that line is very meh. Lining Davis up over Biadasz should be illegal.

Giants OL might not be great but I think their front 7 has a chance to cause a lot of havoc.

Awful throw aside, why does everything look so half assed on this play? Look at the route that receiver ran, wtf was that? Everyone is moving in slow motion

We have joint practices with 2 different teams. That will tell us how our players are actually doing.

* Nakobe Dean’s fall in the draft left me a little less enthused than a lot of Blog folks. There were concerns about size/athleticism and it doesn’t sound like he’s popping much in camp. It’s not the end of the world, because part of what set him apart in the college ranks was his instincts and smarts. He doesn’t know the playbook completely (I assume), and he’s not really studying opponents’ tendencies or a game plan. He might be a better regular season player. 

Has anyone heard Josh Sweats name even once yet?  I see Barnett's name here and there but where the heck is Sweat.

Same with Anthony Harris, is he just a steady player so no need to disucss?

What about Jimmy Moreland?  Not that there were any big expectations for him but the fact that we hear about the young guys, even Josh Jobe and not a peep on Moreland, an established veteran, is surprising.

Haven't heard Kennedy Brooks name much and don't expect to.

Yea it sure showed us last year didnt it? The Eagles supposedly killed in all the joint practices on both sides of the ball. Well turned out our defense all year sucked vs any winning team, Passing offense was so bad they had to change schemes to a run heavy offense. 

Teams dont show anything during those joint practices. Plays are vanilla, Players are not going 100%, no hitting. So tell me again how it will tell us how our players are actually doing?

I like Sweat a lot, have been pulling for him the whole time but he needs to take the next step.

We were a playoff team. So it was somewhat representative. The Patriots, who were also a playoff team, struggled against us in those sessions.

We played teams backups and practice squad players in the second half of the season with the easiest sch in the league. That is the only way we made playoffs by the skin of our teeth. 

Again joint practices show nada.

It's obvious he's limited.  It doesn't matter how much someone works you either have a noodle arm or you don't.

Haven’t heard much from the DL outside of a few splashes here and there from Graham (although beat reports have been pretty good about him), Sweat, Barnett, Hargrave and Davis. 

The only time we heard a lot of reporting on the DL was when Clark played LT on Thursday.

Stoll is already one of the best run blocking TEs in the NFL.

They're working on his receiving, but he ran a 4.68 at 247 lbs, even bulked up to 255 he's probably in the 4.75 range, which is fine for the 4th or 5th option in the passing game when they're in a 2 TE formation - like Lewis and Celek before him, he just has to find the soft spots in the zone and catch the ball.

He was a decent receiver in college:

 

It’s his 2nd year. Curious where, aside from being a homer, you get Stoll being one of the best run blocking TE in the game.

We killed the joint practices and ended up making the playoffs.

Kennedy Brooks is already one of the best pass protection backs in the NFL

We got in on that extra wild card spot, we don't make the playoffs in any other year. We didn't deserve to make it last year, and I'd wager most years going forward the team that gets that spot probably shouldn't be in the playoffs. A terrible idea to add another team
