Have we heard a ton about the OL/DL much at all outside of Clark’s brutal performance Thursday? We hear some snippets about 1-on-1s but that’s about it.

I remember reading somewhere he is top 10 in drop percentage....but don't quote me on it

Top receivers usually do lead the league in drops ...... Comes with the territory

Usually true, but he isnt top 30 in targets so I feel that argument doesn't stand very tall

61st, 36th, 35th in targets

I'm late. Just saw that Hunt wants a trade

I didn't look into it but, fair enough. Didn't realize he was that far down the list.

I just remembered guys like TO or Odell Beckham were always leading the league in drops for as great as they were, so I assumed the same for Brown. I didn't realize he didn't have the targets to go with it.

Woohoo! The Revenue Seed!

People are irrationally down on this team, acting like we're the Falcons.

It’ll be interesting to see who ultimately emerges as the #1 WR between Brown and Smith.

Ultimately, I think it will and should be Smith. I see Brown as a lesser version of TO and Smith as a better version of Maclin. Just using former Eagles as comparison.

Regardless that is a great combo. Having multiple good to great receivers is better than one elite receiver.

We played teams backups and practice squad players in the second half of the season with the easiest sch in the league. That is the only way we made playoffs by the skin of our teeth.

Again joint practices show nada.

Has anyone ever noticed that when people complain about how easy the Eagles schedule supposedly was in the second half of the year, they never seem to consider the fact that the first half schedule was remarkably brutal? 49ers, at Dallas, Bucs, Chiefs, at Raiders, all in their first seven games. Yknow, so maybe that might be the reason they got off to a slow start.

Football outsiders rank the Eagles at #8 for the best under-25 talent:

The Eagles are a victim of the specifics of this exercise. They traded for blue-chip receiver A.J. Brown and saw their former seventh-round draft pick Mailata blossom into a blue-chip left tackle just in time for them to turn 25 and disqualify from the rankings. Still, I expect the Eagles are satisfied with their rise from 29th and 25th in the rankings the past two years to eighth this year.

Eagles have done an excellent job of rebuilding a roster that ballooned to the second oldest in football -- with a 27.2 snap-weighted age in 2019 -- on the heels of their 2017 Super Bowl win. DeVonta Smith played 17 games in his rookie season and eased concerns for his small frame of 170 pounds. He just missed the top 30 with a 7.7% receiving DVOA and is on a star trajectory.

Landon Dickerson had his own injury concerns after a pair of ACL tears in college. But he made it through his rookie season unscathed and even bested his blindside companion, Mailata, with a 2.7% vs. 3.1% blown block rate -- albeit at the easier left guard position. Next up, the Eagles have their eyes on some defensive improvements. They drafted a pair of Georgia teammates in defensive tackle Davis and linebacker Nakobe Dean in the first and third rounds this year. And Davis is a physical marvel. He ran a 4.78-second 40-yard time even at 341 pounds.

It is definitely a nice surprise that we are one of the younger talented teams this year.

Nuance is not allowed.

Or that the Eagles' coaching staff had first time play-callers on both sides of the ball.

GD you and others are sensitive.  Most people see this team as a 8-10 win team, not the Falcons.  That's fine.   It's just that we don't use making the playoffs last year as some sort of shield like you and others do.  It wasn't a great accomplishment bud.

Contending hyperbole with hyperbole. That was a twist I wasn’t expecting, well played

It’s his 2nd year. Curious where, aside from being a homer, you get Stoll being one of the best run blocking TE in the game.

I can't speak much to his receiving ability, having seen him only once in college. As a blocker, however, he is first rate. He's aggressive and he blocks well in space, which not many players do. I first notice him in pre-season because he was always looking to hit someone. On plays run away from his side he would look first to cut off pursuit and, if there wasn't any, he went hunting. A lot of guys block to first contact but he would keep driving.

He's probably not in the top 50 as a receiver but he's easily top 10 as a blocker.

How QB Reid Sinnett is impressing his coaches and why Carson Strong isn’t a shoo-in to be Eagles’ No. 3 quarterback

When the Eagles signed undrafted quarterback Carson Strong and gave him a contract that included a whopping 300,000, it looked like the rookie had an inside track to be the team’s third-string quarterback.

Not so fast. Don’t forget about Reid Sinnett.

Through the first couple weeks of training camp, the Eagles’ 25-year-old incumbent No. 3 quarterback has looked very good. Much better, in fact, than Strong.

So do we just call the Nasty Nate award at this point? Hard to see anyone overtaking Strong at this point.

If you remember correct the second half of the season almost every team we played was playing backups including at QB because of injuries and COVID. We didnt blow out these teams with backups and PS players either. Go rewatch the games, it wasnt impressive wins. Would be different if we were firing on all cylinders.

To summarize the 2021 team: they reliably beat horrible teams and failed to compete or have a chance against good teams.   The general goal for 2022 is to demonstrate an ability to pack a punch in a higher weight class.
