When you beat Mailata, you still haven't beat him b/c his feet and length means he can still reach you and push you past the QB.

Last guy with that kind of length and athleticism at LT for the Eagles was Tra Thomas, but Tra was a wimp when it came to run blocking, Mailata is a beast.

It's just a transcript. He didn't ask the questions.

I'm guessing practice is over. Did we stay undefeated?

As if there was any doubt.

And Reub was wring about Marvin Wilson having a great camp. Marlon T in one on ones or a vanilla scrimmage isn’t the same Marlon T we have seen in PS games.  Not a single one of th DTs vying for a potentially non existent 5th DT slot that they shouldn’t be willing to risk waiving given the next man up is pretty close and one or two of them will make it to the practice squad.

Marlon T showed good pressure pass rushing but was a non-factor against the run. Practice Squad.

Can't really tell anything from Twitter "reports" of a scripted joint practice.  So we just assume they won and move on.

And, from the sound of it, we won't see the starters in game action on Sunday.  Yay.

In the twitter feed someone said the first 3 questions were from Bo Wulf.

They are, I heard it. Last one was either McManus or McLane.

That wasnt the question. I apologize you dont know how to comprehend a sentence.

Who would you vote as single best football player on the team? Not most important, just best at what they’re asked to do.

Not most important, just best at what theyre asked to do.

They ask the backup QB to keep his mouth shut, they ask him to be supportive, and they tell him to be a backup to a player who is NOT better than him. And Minshew kills it

Maybe he is best team-oriented guy but best player, no. You have to play to be in the conversation and if Minshew got hit by a bus, the Eagle's season is unchanged. If Johnson, Mailata, Smith, or Slay are out, what the team is capable of on the field changes. This is because they are the best players the Birds put on the field. Not that much to comprehend unless someone re-frames the question to meet their particular perspective.

Both things can be true. Wentz definitely didn’t help. Wentz was atrocious in 2020 and didn’t help himself holding onto the ball. However in 2020 only kelce was the only projected starter to play every game or 75% of the games. Lane started 7 games, brooks started 0, seumalo started 9 and dillard played 0, peters was moved then replaced by mailata who was starting for the first time for 10. Having Matt pryor start 10 games and opeta started 2.

here’s their projected starters last year and how many games they started (also some games they left with injury)

fischer- 15 starts

nelson— 13 starts

branden smith— 11 starts

Ryan Kelly— 14 starts

Glowinski— 14 starts

so combined starts missed was 18 starts out of a possible 85 and a lot of them overlapped.

Matt pryor started 5 games, Davenport who was atrocious last year started 4, Danny Pinter started 3 and Chris reed started 6. The colts oline missed games at the same time and  when some guys came back. Wentz was an issue so was their injury situation along their oline.

Thank you for that research. Enjoy your posts, in depth and well organized, "Pillar" ? ..lol

Very interesting and illuminating point.

I have 49 players on my 53 right now

QB (2)
RB (3)
WR (5)
TE (3) including Togiai
OL (9)
DE (4)
DT (4) It was 5 prior to your comment
LB (6)
CB (6) Including Jobe and Scott
Safety (4) including Blankenship and Amadi
Specialists (3)

With the following 10 players on the bubble

Covey
Calcaterra
Awosika
Anderson
the three DTs Tuipulotu, Wilson, and Smith
Bradley
K. Johnson
Chachere

I expect there will be a 4th RB.  Hunt for Reagor would be ideal with Covey sliding into WR 5.  Bradley and Chachere for their STs ability would seem like the other two.

Its a colloquialism, not an incantation

Thought he had ligament damage according to earlier reports. Sounds like he said f it, work through, make the team.

If that's true , I want him. Attitude prevails.

I know what it is.  But, I never liked it.  Maybe because I know someone who was killed when he was hit by a bus.  Regardless, "if he retired tomorrow" would work just as well.

But, has he supplanted Minshew as the best player on the team??

Given the hit Hurts took against the Jets, I'd understand resting the starters on Sunday.

I mentioned safety over Hunt earlier

No surprise they aren’t playing, we won’t see the starters until week 1

He needs reps.  Real reps, where he has to learn how to protect himself, unlike in practice where he gets 'sacked', and then throws the ball anyway for a 'TD'.   He's not a finished product, why are we protecting him like he can't get better from getting more live reps.

Like solicitor...lol.

Regarding the possibility of a Reagor for Hunt trade.  Would you be willing to include Gainwell with Reagor?

For me, that would mean a one-year rental in exchange for those two players.  I would not extend Hunt, but rather look to agree with him that playing behind the Eagles O-Line would be an ideal situation for him to put up great numbers in a contract year.
