This has nothing to do with missing containment. 

One of the challenges of playing multiple fronts on defense is ~actaully~ being good in those fronts. You miss a lot of the details when you're constantly doing so many different things. If it were easy to be so multiple, more teams would do it. I think that's one of the issues with Gannon.

Gannon lacks instincts in terms of play calls.  Never seems to call the right coverage or blitz.

This Eagles offense doesn’t even test mid field, let alone down field. I get that it’s backups and preseason, but this is how they call it with their 1s in mid season too.

A vanilla preseason offense can still allow qb’s to throw the ball.

The story seems to be they are protecting his knee, getting ready to stash him on IR.

I would like to see him out there too but it may be foregone.

I haven’t seen or heard anything from Gowan or Goodrich at all this off-season/preseason.
