Sanders? Only 11 running backs have started more games over the last three years than Sanders, so the injuries are frustrating, but part of that is just life as an NFL running back.

How long do you think we keep Reagor?

Til Howie works out a trade.

Greg Ward may have trade value.  Harris and Tarrt may also.

So in my view Howie has four pieces to play with this week.

10 cuts to get down from 86 to 76

QB - no cuts
RB - Huntley (1)
WR - Greg Ward and John Hightower (3)
TE - Rodgers (4)
OT - no cuts
OG - Clark (5)
OC - no cuts
DE - no cuts (Leo is player 76 as an International)
DT - no cuts
LB - Elliss (6)
CB - McCain? Vincent? (8)
Safety - Tartt? (9)

One more (10) Stevens?

These make sense, but I think Ward makes it to the end.

I thinks it’s pretty dumb they are making teams cut 10 guys right before a game where more than likely those 10 guys would play the majority of it and get their game on tape for other NFL teams

I assume we won’t see the starters in the final preseason game. I know it’s smart as they get the reps against the Browns and Dolphins in practice amd it’s not worth putting them on film and also risking injury, but I’m dying to see the real team.

Giants starters are losing to the Cincy backups. Not a great sign.

In principle I agree, but coming up with 10 was hard given the outcome of today’s game.  Williams the 5th OT was a possibility, but with the starters sitting again that means Dillard and Driscoll play the whole game.  Tom was another possibility but having him available to eat snaps in the last game makes sense especially if they rest Jurgens.  I want to see all 4 depth DTs one more time, as well as the depth DBs.  So that meant Ward goes to the Bell Squad.

Interesting to see how Minshew is talked about in the media.  Outside of the dropped pick 6 and a weak throw to Reagor, Minshew did everything you want a QB to do in this offense.  Almost lock in step, all of them saying Minshew wasn't all that impressive but shows you why he's a veteran backup.  He can come in and run the offense and make throws when needed.  If Jalen Hurts played today and went 14-17 for 142 yards while making quick decisions and spreading the ball around the media would be slobbing over him.

Minshew runs the offense as it's intended.  That's why so many of here prefer him over Hurts.  You invest in WR and TE, you want a QB who gives those guys the best chance at succeeding.

Also, the back shoulder throw to Cain was a gorgeous pass.  It comes off as ho-hum for Minshew because he can make that throw.

Minshew showed why he's a top backup, the throw to Reagor that was 2 yards short showed his throwing limitations.

I said this a month ago, and this game showed it to the max, he's the equivalent of the Detmer brothers, really smart guys who lacked athleticism and NFL arms, but could come in and win a game or two for you until the league game planned for them. Minshew can run a ball control offense, but if he's forced to make big plays against a NFL defense, you're in trouble.

The nonsense how he should start over Hurts needs to end, even Minshew kinda pointed that out, "where Hurts will give you 40 yards on a RPO, I'll give you 4." That is, he's dependable but he's not going to make the big plays you need to win big games.

Won't surprise me if he signs an extension to backup Hurts for a few years, I think he's realized there's no demand for him around the league and he has a home here.

I think they are holding out hope Ward’s toe gets better but given how long he has been out, my guess is he may be destined for IR. I don’t think Ward makes the roster this year.

Thibodeaux down with an apparent knee injury 😮

Very pleased with the second team OL.

Dillard was solid in pass pro and showed a lot of pop in the run game.

Anderson has been an afterthought with me for the pre-season but he impressed the hell out of me today. Terrific run blocking - he and Dillard had some beautiful double-teams - and secure in pass pro. Moved inside to center and was just fine there too.

Jurgens was terrific again. We have the two best centers in the NFC-E.

Opeta and Awosika were OK. Opeta is a very good run blocker, still limited in lateral movement.

Driscoll was solid. He anchored a little better, it seemed to me, than he has in the past.

Stoll and Togiai helped themselves. Rodgers did not.

Granted this was against Cleveland's twos.

Reagor had some nice plays but there was a run in the first half where he absolutely dogged it. He didn't sell a pass and he didn't block his man, who was right in front of him and who ended up making the tackle. Ugh.

Other impressions.

None of Williams, Tuipulotu, and Wilson impressed me at all. I noted that many on here busted on Gannon but seemed clear to me that he wanted to see who could win one-on-one matchups. I think he called one blitz in the first half and that was it. Nobody stepped up.

Davis did very little.

Dean was paralyzed by play-action. His game is based on quick recognition and reaction, and he was always late.

I was impressed with  Anderson at guard, not so much at center, but he'd be the #3 center so not being awful is all you need right now, big improvement over last week.

Jurgens was a steal in the 2nd round, he looks like Kelce Jr with 20 more lbs.

Togiai is ahead for TE #3, with Cal headed to the PS, though Tyree Jackson will be back at some point, his upside says they'll find a way to keep him.

Reagor can help some team as a #3 WR, just not this team. Cain made a big move up the depth chart today, but Pascal may be a real steal, he was an afterthought in Indy given their lack of explosive skill people crowded the underneath zone, but here with playmakers that spread the field, I see the second coming of Avant.

Davis needs work on technique, this was a good game for him, wakeup call that being bigger and stronger doesn't work as well at the NFL level.

Dean has shown that he's healthy, stronger than advertised, but like Edwards, isn't an uber athlete that can ride physical skills while he learns the NFL game. But as Edwards shows, really smart guys with work ethics will make big jumps as they get more experience.

Jobe made a big jump today, last week he looked lost, this week it's like the light went on and he's figured out that the NFL is just Alabama practices on steroids.

Vincent looked like a guy used to dominating with speed who has discovered in the NFL everyone is fast, you're quick or you're dead.

I wouldn't take WIlliams seriously in pre-season, he has a job, he's just playing it out as a backup but there's no urgency for him.

Taylor showed why they're being patient with him at LB, made some nice plays with that speed, got caught inside on a run, but you can see he's made strides, and can contribute as a backup and a possible starter next year if White leaves.

Guy was chipped low. No room for that in the preseason.

The cuts only take them down to 80 before the last preseason game.

But they ought to come up with Preseason IR so that they can IR a player that gets injured in PS but at the cut to 53, those players must either go to season ending IR, the 53 man roster or cut.  The PS IR wouldn’t count against the 85 or 80 but they also couldn’t place more than 10 on PS when the squad is at 90 and that number wouldn’t be more than five after the cutdown to 85.  Once a player is on PS IR they can’t be activated until the cutdown to 53.   So, for example, Kelce to PS IR would make sense.  Hargrave, maybe.  Ward, maybe.  But the others that missed practices because of injury, probably not although Sanders might be considered.   Who knows how bad his hammy is.  That might allow a lower roster player a bit longer stint and a chance to get on film.  Especially makes sense with the spring leagues probably watching.

The cutdown Tuesday is five.  Sills, Awosika and Clark all play OT and G.

Taylor  has shown nothing to suggest he will become a competent, starting LB in the NLF.

Actually a good block as it sprung the runner.  Looks like the type of situation where the player might have a hyperextended knee.  Usually NBD.

I am sure the Farmer Ted, self proclaimed expert on Coastal Carolina, will be confused and state I am wrong but Likely at TE for the Ravens looks pretty damn good.  They have a knack for finding TEs.

BTW, Huntley looking solid this preseason.

I rewatched the 1st half just looking at the Jordan Davis snaps and he was still good. Got doubled about half the time. They were running away from him a ton. When he was single-blocked, he won all but one of his matchups. The only time he struggled was in traps and screens, where he would go too quickly into the backfield. That will come with time. Davis was good, but he's the kind of player that messed up the OL and needs other players to finish, which didn't happen often.

I agree with all of your observations, with the possible exception of Taylor.

80 is a better number but still seems like overall cutting anyone at this point serves no real purpose for anyone

First word on Thibs is optimistic. Sounds like he likely avoided anything major.
