Not that it makes it any better, but who does he even have at #4?  Pascal? Reagor? Cain? One of the fast plucky white dudes who's trying his best?

I guess Riley told Slovis he wouldn’t be starting at USC, but following an average arm at Pitt (Pickett) with Slovis’s weaker arm, along with Addison transferring to USC, is not a good look for Slovis.  Dude should of entered the 2022 draft.

AJ will learn that it’s difficult for Hurts to pass in actual games too.

Oh for sure.  Hell, I was a big fan of Emory Jones and thought he was on his way and he flamed out and transferred.  He was just named Arizona State starting QB today though.

Can't say I was lol. It'll be a fun year in college with this group for sure

It was obvious Williams was going to SC. That's why Dart left also

While we're on the topic of SEC QB's.  Our old buddy Trey Burton was at UF practice.  Gotta say I'm excited to see if Richardson can live up to the hype.

My QB #1! I also think Howie gets AR and replaces Hurts with him. You know Howie wants a big Florida splash.

My stripper name

If we’re looking to add a downhill, physical back, I’d keep an eye on San Francisco. Elijah Mitchell and Ty Davis-Price are roster locks, so that likely means one of Trey Sermon, Jeff Wilson and Jordan Mason get cut. Mason is a UDFA who has looked really good in the preseason.

Ridder looked good last night.  Would be much more excited for our future with a guy like him on the roster.  Look at this throw below.  He drops back and steps up in to the pocket with authority.  Then he zips the ball in stride.

With Hurts, I think he always has an eye looking to run or pre-determines if he's going to scramble on a play.  Against the Jets where he was hit late, it seemed like he knew before the ball was snapped that he was going to run.  He trusts his legs more than his arm.  That's getting freaky to him, making plays with his legs.  My guess is most 3rd and long plays this year will result in scrambles more than executed pass plays not because scrambling is the best outcome but because Hurts thinks he has to make the play with his legs.

I would love to pry Sermon from them. I thought he was such a bad fit with Shanahan's offense.

There's only one Hold God and his name is Koy Detmer.

Does not surprise me one bit that hes your #1 quarterback. Jamarcus Russell 2.0

Who gives a F!?!  Let me know the last team that won the SB because they got a TE that can dominate a CB on the outside 1-1.

And coming from you, it's really funny.  What does it matter until we get a QB.  Amirite?

New England and Tampa.

What exactly do they have in common?

Hope no Eagles player gets arrested down in Miami this week.  Eagles probably flying down there tonight or tomorrow (not sure if joint practices start tomorrow or Wednesday).  They will be there until Saturday night.  That's a long time in a city with a nightlife like that for young rich athletes away from their wives and gfs.  Not just a one night fly in like a regular season game.

With a leader like Jalen Hurts, I am not sure how that is possible.

This never happened.

As we’ve seen in the past, Gronk beat a cornerback and sprinted to the touchdown. His 69th of his career. So what’s so significant about that? It’s a Patriots franchise record. The tight end officially made history with that reception.

Generally speaking, modern SB champs have had good TEs. Last year's Rams were the exception. Otherwise, it's Gronk/Brate, Kelce, Gronk, Ertz/Celek, etc. Even recent SB losers had good TEs like Kittle and Hooper. Unless you run the Rams or Bengals' system where the TE is essentially a 6th OL/checkdown option, it helps a lot.

Yeah this board has a weird desire to try to devalue TEs.  Dates back to people last year saying they shouldn't re-sign Goedert and trade him or let him walk. If you look at Super Bowl winners and often times losers as well over the past decade, a common theme for those teams is that they have a top TE.

That covers the controversy. And explains why all the hand wringing around here is a waste of time.

Howie will let the season play out, then make his decision, he has the ammo to make changes, but Hurts determines his own fate.

Two very rare occurrences that were not drafted in the top half of the 1st round.  I stand by my statement, bad idea for us then and now.

I love the "I was completely wrong about something, but I refuse to acknowledge reality and therefore I am still right," approach to the discussion.

Starting today teams can move players from active PUP to reserve PUP as part of roster cutdowns. Something to keep an eye on in regards to Jackson/Toth.

I feel like this is a new rule starting this year but they have changed so much the last 3 years I'm not sure.

Afan, its a goddamn discussion board. We're going to discuss the most important position till we're blue in the face. I don't know what you don't understand about that.
