This is McCarthy's last season in Dallas no matter what because at best theyre a first round exit team. There will be too much pressure on Dallas to find a new coach.

If Payton expresses any interest in coaching there, Jerry would fire McCarthy in a second to hire him. Even if McCarthy led them deep in the playoffs.

How do you figure we’ll get a 3rd as a comp pick? I feel that’s overestimating his impact here a bit. I think it’ll be a 4th at best for comp pick

Wonder if this will change certain player's playing time on Saturday.

On paper, the Eagles have one of the easiest schedules this season, so that alone will be enough for some bettors to put money on the Eagles; it would have to go badly wrong for the team to not make the playoffs based on the in division opponents.  With the investment in the team, the roster is good on paper too.

The reality is, we just don't know what will happen when the bullets are live

I agree on everything you said. Its not something I would prioritize over QB/EDGE/DB, since those are our biggest pressing needs for short term/long term. There’s just a lot of "ifs” that play into the scenario where I’d be ok with it. If Hurts proves to be good enough (for the record I Doubt this one), if EDGE has already been addressed, if it’s another deep DB class & we can find a good option on Day 2, If there’s the right fit in terms of draft position/talent to draft the future at RT and stash him away. I think highly of Lane still, but this is the point of a vets career you have to start thinking of his eventual replacement. Add in He’s over 30, will be 33 entering next season, and has the injury history. So if the right guy is there, you have to at least consider it.

How do we know that it wasn't cancelled by the Eagles to preserve their dignity and the 7-1 record?
