I used the Alaskan Railroad to travel around Alaska and really enjoyed letting them do the driving.  I have thought about that railroad trip in the Canadian Rockies but if the wife is willing, I will likely drive it.

I get that.  I like having the freedom to go and do as I please when I'm on vacation.  Although driving in Thailand was a mistake in retrospect

Ridiculous.  There hasn't been QB contract extension for under $40M per year in quite awhile.

If Kyler Murray just bilked ARI out of $46M per season, why would Giglio think the market can be reset to $35M?

Backups don't though 😉

Agree.  Even the same with the Reagor v Jefferson pick. Only a few of us were high on Jefferson.  I recall the conversations about whether Jefferson had performed well on the outside the year before.  But we had posters that wanted Aiyuk, Mims, and even one speed obsessed poster wanted Hamler.  A lot wanted us to trade up for Ruggs.  I had Jefferson as my second highest WR with the first being Jeudy.  Considering how his injury history has worked out, I would say Jeudy has been a bit of a disappointment.  I still think Howie missed seriously on Reagor instead of Jefferson but during that time frame, I thought he gambled to much on the first two days.  I am somewhat impressed that he started to change last year and his choices were better this year.  That said, those were safe choices. And Dean is almost as much of a gamble as Taylor.

Hindsight is 20/20.

I disagree 100% on this.  Dean knows how to play football.  Taylor is still learning.

Seems like there's a middle ground between not giving a 24 year old developmental QB preseason reps and starting a 45 year old hall of famer in a meaningless game.

Colts are starting Ryan too lol

This is overblown, quite frankly.  Be the best team in your division based on making moves that benefit your team to the best of your ability.  Frankly, if Dillard is such an important asset, that he couldn't be permitted to be traded to Dallas, then he should have been given the 5th year.  But, he's not, so what's the big deal?  (And I say that as a fairly strong upporter of DIllard in the past.). He is expendable for two reasons.   One is his own play, and frankly the greatest reason.  Two is the obsession this team had with Peters at the end, and the fact that they didn't give the kid the opportunity soon enough... and then when that chance came, a poorly timed injury undercut the whole thing.  He's worth more to this team as a trade chip than as depth, honestly.  And... if Dallas is the highest bidder, so be it.  I'd rather use Dallas to drive the price up from another team, but I don't see Dillard as anything more than a potential solid pass blocking LT, who will never be a great run blocker.

Hes worth more as a trade chip only if you get enough out of that trade. I wouldnt give up Dillard to a divisional opponent for just a 2nd round pick. Lets be honest, nobody is sure just how good Andre Dillard is or isnt, but theres a decent chance he could actually be a pretty good LT. You dont just give that up to a divisional opponent, who is desperate for Oline help, for so cheap. And as close as we are to the other NFCE teams (because Hurts is our QB) we need all the help we can get right now. We could be the best team in this division because they simply dont have an oline. To be the best team in the division, you dont help your division. Id ask for a 1st this year and a 2nd or 3rd for next year.

And then he followed up by saying Murray stinks and is a loser.  Giglio it as dumb as they come.  He should be a pillar.

Yea, you can tell he's just talking in circles at this point

Both get engulfed by blockers.  Taylor is superior athletically.  Dean is superior football IQ.  Dean is still a work in progress.  We’ll see if he progresses to an NFL LB.

Perhaps it was what you chose to put on your list of activities that was the problem.  When I look at the "Top 10 Things To Do" list from Trip Advisor (shown below), I have a hard time finding even one of the 10 that would provide me with a "terrible time"

1. Mount Royal Park
2. Old Montreal
3. Notre-Dame Basilica
4. Saint Joseph's Oratory of Mount Royal
5. Montreal Botanical Garden
6. Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal
7. Barbie Expo
8. Jean-Talon Market
9. Pointe-a-Calliere, Montreal Archaeology and History Complex
10. Old Port of Montreal

We were there for an event at the BIG O, spent 5 days there, visited a handful of restaurants and the surrounding areas...  all 13 of us in our group, came away with the same perceptions.  Every experience with the locals was poor, from the Hotel staff, the event staff, the Restaurants, stores etc., The area was trashy, dirty.... etc.

To be the best team in the division you help yourself.  As you point out, this team desperately needs a legit QB.  Add an extra 2nd rounder to what they have in draft capital already and then maybe they have enough to get any QB they want from this draft.  But, if Hurts is the QB moving forward, I have no delusions of grandeur for this team.  I think they top out at 10 wins and a playoff disappointment year after year.

They brought in Davis to suck up blockers and allow the MLB to flow to the football, that's Dean's bread and butter.   Taylor, on the other hand, runs around too much with too many missteps.  Dean is already a much more polished MLB than Taylor, and Taylor is entering year 3.

Dean played more snaps in Pop Warner than Taylor has in his whole life.  They're betting on traits.  Maybe with reps his instincts will improve.

I really have fond memories of Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia but it has been decades since I was in the first two. I haven’t been to the five eastern provinces nor to the territories, although the Yukon is on my list. Wife and I have been discussing the eastern provinces in a couple separate trips.  Northern lights are part of that discussion. I have barely touched Manitoba but I plan to cure that on my trip to the notch.  Fishing is supposed to be even better than northern Minnesota, although at my age lake canoeing is probably behind me.

I just don't see any point of going to Sask...Alberta, I'll get there someday.

Visited Nova Scotia in May, and loved it. Been to New Brunswick, also fantastic. Newfoundland is on my list, and I would love to explore the Yukon. You should be able to get some monster pikes up near the Notch.

I’m talking strictly about the weather.  People who don’t have to deal with those kind of winters are usually the ones who say they prefer the winter over the summer.  Months without sunshine alone sucked.  Add the snow and the cold.  F that.

Hey I was in college up near the great lakes.  Trust me I get how those winters can be.

I have a bunch of friends in Ontario,  All over, from Point Edward, Caledonia, Hamilton, Guelph, Wairton, Ottawa. Some are up camping at Algonquin Park this week.

I love Algonquin, usually spend 2 weeks there every year. Do you know what lake(s) they're on?

Seems that they actually started to hedge against their bet on Taylor by drafting Dean and signing White.  Taylor has an upfield battle to see the field this year.  He's behind White, Edwards and Reddick.  Dean seems to have an inside track for reps before Taylor based on knowing how to play behind the big fella in the middle.  Dean also has the knowledge of the game and had the green dot in the PS game 1.   We'll see how it shakes out, but it seems like they are looking to move on from Taylor more than they are currently betting on traits.  The draft they selected him, I agree, it was all about traits.  That seems to have backfired on them, and they went in a different direction in more recent drafts.

What year were you there? The Big O is sort of away from most of the city, and is kind of a trashy area. Mount Royal is where it's at, and Old Montreal is gorgeous.

I am not touting Taylor as better than Dean, I said they are both gambles and they are.  Dean is short and light, not as big as Taylor and slower.  If he can’t deal with a second level block by an OL by himself, that’s an issue. Davis isn’t a 100% rep guy and Milt Williams is a smaller DT. Do you really think Marlon T or Marvin Wilson are going to keep Dean clean from all second level or TE blocks?  He disappointed in the Cleveland game.  He has actually shown up as a disappointment on some of the Beats’ evaluations.  Many refer to a quiet TC.  Well, he is a rookie so that is to be expected to a degree but he is still learning NFL football.  So, yeah, I think they are still gambles at this point.  I will say this, Dean’s arrow is probably pointing up more than Taylor’s at this point.

Family owned a place out side of Oswego, spent a ton of winters up there. nothing like waking up to 3 feet of snow that no one knew was coming

Love a fresh snowfall in the morning. Especially in any kind of wilderness. There's no sound, it's all muffled by the snow. No animals, no birds, no insects. Just, quiet bliss.
