Seems like a really difficult standard to meet. For example, women's pro baseball was essentially softball for most of its existence, do we pull our hair out about that? If we have a show about the military, and 99 percent of the time was spent training, should we demand it reflect that reality? Yeah. We should make a story about womens basketball where all the players are 90 year old white men.

If he can’t deal with a second level block by an OL by himself, that’s an issue. Davis isn’t a 100% rep guy and Milt Williams is a smaller DT. Do you really think Marlon T or Marvin Wilson are going to keep Dean clean from all second level or TE blocks? He disappointed in the Cleveland game. He has actually shown up as a disappointment on some of the Beats’ evaluations. Many refer to a quiet TC. Well, he is a rookie so that is to be expected to a degree but he is still learning NFL football. So, yeah, I think they are still gambles at this point. I will say this, Dean’s arrow is probably pointing up more than Taylor’s at this point. I'll take a gamble on an intelligent, fast, form tackling football player from a big time program, over a guy who never played before, but has all the measurables when it comes to a 3rd round pick. The knock on Dean is size and durability. The knock on Taylor is that he's constantly lost. And no, I don't expect Milton Williams to keep him clean. I expect Williams to play the 4i. I am talking about the 0 technique and Davis. I think that the fact that they went with him, and signed another space eater DT as a UDFA might indicate that that's the blueprint moving forward. Smaller guys like Zach Thomas and Sam Mills can thrive if they are kept clean. Dean was kept clean at UGA. Granted that was a stacked DL, but once upon a time, the Eagles prioritized having a stacked DL too.

McDowell, well, no. At Chancellorsville, when Hooker lost his nerve and ordered a retreat, Meade argued strenuously to stay and fight. I too like Meade, he was a good general, and was never truly replaced as Commander of the Army of the Potomac. Grant was placed above him, kept him on at that position, but Grant camped with the Army of the Potomac, so he was able to have a more tight control than if he commanded the overall operations from Washington. I offer McDowell, as Lee also lost Jackson at Chancellorsville, initially thought to be only an amputation (with expected return to duty), but developed pneumonia. So, in the trade, Lee might only be looking for a short term replacement while Jackson recoups, similar to Dallas possibly thinking that Smith can return at some point. Smith only has one year left on his deal though, so they can move on from him fairly cheaply on the cap though, so perhaps they will. Of course, the Eagles had that luxury with Peters as well when he reached the end, but they just kept bringing him back. We'll see.

These guys need to get smarter about their conduct, but sadly, many of these guys have too much money too soon and they do stupid and irresponsible things with it. It is truly tragic. I just hope that no more players take others' lives with them as they self-destruct. That's the greater tragedy.

August 26, 20223 yr Hypothetical situation in next year's draft...let's say we make the playoffs but exit first round, again. So our pick is around 20. Let's also say the Saints give us a top 5 pick. With that top 5 pick, we end up with the QB we want (this is hypothetical, remember) without having to move up at all. With the 20th pick...if he's there, would you consider taking Bijan? I know, generally don't take RBs in the first....but, getting that QB early without using additional assets would open up that 20th pick to BPA basically.

I think it's more likely they continue to build the lines, specifically DLine. Not sure who the best DE DT prospects are but I'd think they'd take DL OL DB WR TE in the first before taking a RB.

But yeah if not QB I'd say DL OL DB

I'd still take Bijan over all of them at 20, in my scenario. Dude's gonna be a monster.

It's just difficult to justify a 1st on any RB. Eagles are pretty thin at corner, not that they don't have bodies there they have like 400 corners on the roster but slay is getting up there who knows if bradberry is here past this year and he's not that young either, Maddox is just a nickel , Zech who knows I'd be ok with a first spent on a corner or even a safety, though Howie will never use a 1st on a safety
