A high end RB could do so much damage with this OL.

We had one last year, you saw how that worked out in the playoffs when they made him throw the ball.

I'm sorry I brough such a depressing topic into the blog.  A little back story without too much detail. I met my friend 12 years ago during an AF commissioning program. He was on top of the world

If the Eagles have a top 5 pick next year, I'm finding a way to get Will Anderson and then if a QB falls use that pick for a QB.

Agree that we need a RB in the worst way.

Watching the game last night, both teams have legit RB.  As much as we want to support Boston Scott and Kenny Gainwell, they are more gadget type/situational RB.   I don't look at them like true RB.  Trey Sermon is a RB. Dameon Pierce is a RB.

But wouldn't be enough.  We all know what we need to go along with this OL.  Until we get that...nothing else matters.

So when will the Reagor trade go down?

Monday or Tuesday?

With Pascal showing up there's zero reason to keep reagor on the roster as the 5th WR.

Not sure Howie is ready to admit his mistake though.

I'm sure he's asking for something like  two 1sts and a Ferrari in return.

There are probably a bunch of teams that could use reagor and would trade for him but they aren't going to give up anything worth much for reagor.

Howie needs to swallow his pride and cut bait and get whatever he can for him while he can get anything

2nd round could be the sweet spot for RB.

Eagles got Sanders in the 2nd McCoy In the 2nd Westbrook in the 3rd.

On the flip side Tony Hunt and Ryan Moats were both 3rd rounders🤷‍♂️

I'd drop a first for this guy.

If you have been listening to ESP give his recap after every practice, there is no way you would come away with the thought that "overall he did look improved from last year".  That is ESP's way of backtracking and trying to speak it into existence.  The kind of passing reps and overall amount of passing reps, that Hurts got this TC, tells us all we need to know about what the FO/Coaching Staff thinks of him.

I just think its funny when he or Reuben talk about improvement, they point out "well he threw it to the left sometimes" in 7v7's

I think Reagor is staying. From all the reports he is clearly the #1 punt returner and has been getting all the first reps. Apparently no one besides Reagor can even catch the ball (which is a scary thought). Looks like another year of poor ST's (besides LS, K and mayyybe P) is on the menu.

Yup.

In today's game Westbrook would be even more dangerous

In today's NFL that prioritizes passing for a RB to be deserving of a 1st Rd pick he better be able to catch the ball and pass block and Westbrook on top of being a home run threat runner was a great receiver and a great pass blocker

And that's not even accounting for his ability as a PR as well

If Westbrook would have just been a Return guy hed probably made a few pro bowls as a returner

Not sure there are any backs in the draft with his complete skill set nor have their been many in the league since.

Too bad injuries kept him from being even better.

The Eagles already gave Reagor permission in April to seek a trade; typically when an organization does that, it means there is no market for him.

I didn't know that, maybe reagors agent dropped the Ball ...?

No, it is the fact that Reagor has dropped the ball, repeatedly, that no one wants him.

Another Howie bust.

That would have been Agholor's agent.

Reagor's agent would have taken the wrong route to the meeting.

Howie Roeman has proven time and time again that the Eagles don't value RB that much.  Yet it get's brought up every year.

I don't think that's entirely true.  I don't think they value an RB enough to take one in the first round.  2nd round and beyond is OK.  They also have routinely drafted RBs with mid round picks despite needs at other positions.

Eagles 1st and 2nd round RB's.  In the last 40 years, they have drafted 5 RB's in round 1 or 2.  That is who they are.

Sanders - Rd 2 2019

McCoy - Rd 2 2009

Siran Stacy - Rd 1 1992

Keith Byars - Rd 1 1986

Michael Haddix - Rd 1 1983

ESP's take isn't trustworthy.  In reading a bunch of the reports, the postives were:

- Hurts did take off to run less than last season.

- He utilized more of the field.

- He made some better highlight throws into tighter coverage.

The negatives:

- Accuracy problems

- Held on to the ball too long

- Didn't make that many downfield throws

Looking better isn't the same thing as him looking good.  I fully expect to be frustrating as a QB even if he does some things better.

The whole league has proven they don't value RB that much.

The last back taken in the top 20 was 2017 Saquon Barkley

This past draft a RB didn't go until pick 37 Breece hall

So it's not just Howie it's the whole league.

Howie previously not using first round picks on RBs was just ahead of his time I guess.

Again.  It was a discussion about 1st round.  Not 2nd.  I rest my case.

I made your point, you have to go back to 92 for a first round back, and in the 30 years since then, they have only take 2 in the second round.

Yep, missed Garner.  So they have drafted 3 RB's in the 2nd round or higher in the last 30 years.

Eagles do not value RB enough to take 1 in the first, if they rarely take them in the second.

I’m doubtful of Sanders future if he can’t stay healthy

Yup, he's got a lot of ability but his availability has been iffy along with his consistency when he is available

He will not see a second contract here, unless it is cheap or a prove it deal.
