Those things aren’t even close This is always the type of performance you get from Embiid as the team fizzles out of the playoffs. He will always be injured in the post-season. Get credit for playing through. Have the excuse of injury while fans defend his supermax contract with his MVP worthy regular season play. Truth is, he will never lead this team through the post-season. We have never even gotten out of the 2nd round in the Embiid era. This team has never even been close to competing in the finals, let alone competing for the championship.

May 13, 20223 yr Author There was a video on twitter where Reddick was pointing out that Embiid's thumb injury is a bigger deal than we know. Add the concussion and broken face, I can accept crappy play.
May 13, 20223 yr That right there. Butler gets his own rebound and takes a wide open 3. It’s sickening to watch.
May 13, 20223 yr Starters should all be benched right now. Game is lost. Doc is probably/hopefully fired anyway. Make a bold statement.

But the trip to DC is a train ride and Indy is a tolerable flight. The trip to Houston for a Thursday game is the only real egregious week. Randomly found this on Twitter. Not sure how accurate it is but it seems compared to the league, they are down there

It's a lot better than when we had three teams coming off their bye. We also have very little travel - Arizona, Houston, and Dallas are the only sort of long trips. And we have the permanent advantage of short trips to NYG and WAS. I wouldn't call it objectively unfair.

Short bus ride to the Daniel Jones and a simple plane ride to Justin Fields. Do the first 2 games of the three really count?
May 13, 20223 yr 23 minutes ago, Texas Eagle said: This team completely quit after game 4 Some of it is I don’t think they played with the same intensity and energy as in game three and four. However part of the reason why I took my miami even before the embiid injury was that as the series got deeper I didn’t know how the Sixers starters would hold up. Miami is a very deep team. So they can stay fresh in a 6-7 game series. They have looked like the fresher team since game 4. The Sixers have to play their starters 37 to 40 minutes. The accumulation of those minutes especially when you went 6 games in a raptor series (that you should’ve swept or won in game five) adds up. They look tired and run down maxey has never played this many games nor the minutes in his career. I think it’s caught up to him. He will learn and be fine. Harrris is what he is. I actually think he’s also worn down because they don’t have Ben Simmons defensively anymore. So he actually has taken on a bigger role defensive and extend more energy. He has not looked like the same player since game three. Add on he always disappears as games get bigger. Embiid is just dealing with a bunch of injuries. I got to imagine the injuries and the fact that this year he’s had to play all the minutes that he has because the Sixers don’t have a bench and don’t have a back up center that’s worth anything after they traded Drummond has caught up to him. harden is just not the same player he was with the rockets. He’s never going to consistently be that again. It was a move they hoped he was cause if so they go to another level. It failed. Then losing green minutes into this game was a death blow. Really we shouldn’t be relying on him as much as we do considering the fact he is 34 years old. However because of the bad moves the sixes have made they were forced to rely on him more. Danny Green the last two playoffs has gotten hurt. He shouldn’t be relied on to play 30+ mins or be a starter at this stage of his career i’m not even gonna go into the bench that much but the benches a big reason why the starters get worn down over a seven game series. because the bench does absolutely nothing almost every single game. And Glenn is an overrated fraud if a coach that is horrible at adjustments since he’s left Boston.
May 13, 20223 yr Just an all time second half performance by Harden. That will go down in Philly lore for a very long time.

The issue is that there’s nothing that can be done about it. They should probably go for another run next year, do the best they can to support him, and if he’s injured again for the playoffs, then it’s time to cash out and re-process.
May 13, 20223 yr No heart. Team folded like a lawn chair. Fire Doc Rivers please. At least the best team in the NHL (St. Louis Blues) can finish their series tonight.

Teams historically don’t do good on the third game for 3 straight road games. The schedule makers try to avoid it for a reason. See 10-2 New Orleans beating 4-6 Broncos, 4-7 Saints and then losing to 3-8-1 Eagles
