Random, but they can't possibly keep JJAW on the roster anymore, right? The guy has 16 catches in 3 seasons.

He is the only person on the depth chart at his position, ENFORCER

October may just be a perfect time to visit Arizona 😁

How tough is it to get tickets for away games ?

Fyi it’s still mid 90s around that time and hot. Can get tickets for those games. I usually always go. Cardinals being better makes it more pricey than usual. But it’s affordable. If the game was closer to beginning of November or December I’d tell you hotel prices would be hire as a lot of travelers come those months as the weather is great.

We also naturally throw nice tight spirals so Steve Youngs coach was a lazy idiot.

Not sure if he was a natural lefty but Vick threw a clean, spiral.  Just not always on target.

We are currently 4-point favorites week 1 at Detroit.

Easy to get tickets, just know it won't be cheap.

If this happens, once I've factored in flights and car hire (😲),game tickets will probably look a bargain 😀

Yeah, we've visited arizona before in October, weather was spot on.

Which is why I was watching for when the game was.

Just need to convince the wife that a fortnight over there is just what we need 😁

I don't think its 'secret' knowledge, I think its about an innate ability to see it happening, or not happening live or on film.  He's a great communicator, but he also has to know exactly what to communicate and to whom, how and when.

The math analogy is a false equivalence.  Math has very limited options on how to do it.  OL has very different techniques based on how you want the OL to play.  Its not as simple as 'solve for x'.  There are better teachers and worse teachers.  And as a teacher and having trained many teachers, I can also tell you that some teachers have a great deal more knowledge than others and the ones that have more knowledge of the subject have a deeper well to draw from to help their students understand things and understand them at a higher level.  Some teachers, frankly, only understand their particular subject at the surface level.  Those teachers will never be able to help their students understand things at a level deeper than that.   Bringing it back to OL coaching... knowing the techniques is one thing... knowing why those techniques are what they are and the nuances of that technique is another thing altogether.

This is what separates the great ones for me.

Yeah it's actually different. Howie has shown to be adaptable, Doug hasn't. Part of my premise. Carson, Barnett, Goedert, and  Dillard all sustained nagging or major injuries during crucial developmental periods. Reagor had injury issues leading into his rookie year.

I'm not celebrating their W-L record in 2021. Not important to my argument at all. The roster now is at a much healthier point, literally and figuratively. For the first time in years, were not talking about injuries going into the season. We've had a major infusion of encouraging young talent including AJ Brown, who will be 25 come week 1. You're right that it's not an overnight rebuild, but it's hard to realistically imagine many GMs doing better than Howie has post-2020.

Please tell me what Sirianni did differently to lead to 'better health' than Pederson?

BTW... Brown has missed a lot of games due to... injury.

I didn't say that the new GM would really be better than Howie at this stage of the rebuild, the question remaining with Howie is about the next stage and beyond.  We still don't know.

But, we are still talking about Lane at his age and injury history, still counting on Kelce at his age, Cox and his age/salary...  you are conveniently ignoring injury risks on the current roster, they are still here and we still had Driscoll miss most of the season, Seumalo, Brooks, and Lane missed a bunch as well.  To say that there weren't injuries last year is just incorrect.  There were, and quite a good number.

They will be looking for revenge for that beat down the Eagles gave them...... or maybe they don't care.  Either way, hopefully they don't take em lightly

Kelce has a history of being reliable. The rest...not so much lol

It's going to be strange when Kelce retires

Tell her she needs more Mexican food in her life and she can go swimming everyday. If you have a son or daughter tell her you want to check out asu and uofa for potential colleges lol.

You're seriously trying to equate 2022 Eagles injury concerns to those from 2017-2020? Insanity.

Your initial point was essentially that Howie wasn't held accountable for his failures from 2018-2020. But what really makes sense, firing him to "hold him accountable," or putting the right guy in the GM seat moving forward?

Howie has changed the way he makes personnel decisions, that much is clear as day. The young talent acquired the past two years as a result of that change is so far proving Lurie right.

We've seen Carson be the same frustrating Carson he's been for a while. We've seen Doug make the same dumb coaching hires he tried to make while he was here. We've seen Howie adapt and restock this roster with a lot of encouraging young talent.

You can always respond with some variation of "we can't know for sure," but before you continue doing that, think how you would respond if a poster used similar logic to explain why Jalen Hurts wasn't better last year.

From what Kelce has said, Sirianni is doing much better managing vets and making sure they have a lot of rest during the season.  He said that he would have retired if he was still playing under Doug.  I don't know whether that is all Sirianni but I do think they are not moving to not much in the way of contact.  I am not sure whether that directly prevents injuries.  I will say that Lane only played 12 games in 2019 and 7 in 2020 because of his ankle.  He played 13 last season and only missed time because of the mental health issue.  I don't know what the total number of games missed by starters was in 2021 but given that they set a record for line combos the year before, I think it must have been less.  2020 may be impacted by missed games due to Covid as well.

Yeah, I'm seeing a lot of confirmation bias here, so I'll just ask this: What exactly were your reasonable expectations for where the Eagles would be now if Howie been fired after 2020?

Where they are now but without the GM that screwed up the roster from 2018 to 2020.

I think we would have moved on from Hurts if Howie was also fired

For context -- When exactly are people arguing that Howie would/should have been fired?  Before the Super Bowl season? After 2020 when the team bottomed out with 4 wins and Doug was fired?

I don't see how. At least not in a way that makes sense.  The big trade target QBs wouldn't want to come to a rebuilding team. That leaves stop gap types or dipping into a  crappy draft class.  I think most GMs would rather let things play out with Hurts but stock up for 2023 than go either of those routes.
