Sadly, when I grew my hair out that was the only way to keep me sane.  I hated it long.

You saw and made a comment (a bit later and possibly in a different thread) on the picture.  But yeah.  I needed a haircut, my barber is about 120 years old, so I decided I would finally check off a bucket list item I failed at several times in the past and grow my hair out so I could donate it.  (I also grew my beard out for that first year and it got really duck dynasty-ish) 

 

Now I'm back to my normal self but apparently my next door neighbors think I'm a hippie (environmentalist is the word they used) because of the solar panels

It sure seems that way. It's a bit odd. Like, look, I consider myself an ally to trans people and think the discrimation they face is real and unacceptable, but it does seem like it's gone from a cause to a trendy, hip thing to be/do. In my opinion, this just cheapens and undermines the cause itself.
