So here's the more complete story: the woman is "autistic" and ADHD, which to me suggests she's probably "on the spectrum" but high functioning - not a low-functioning/classic autistic. Persons with low functioning or classic autism don't typically also get diagnosed with ADHD. And if she wasn't high-functioning then her parents would be able to make medical decisions for her. 

She's apparently suffering from a medical condition - which is of course not disclosed because it would be illegal to do so - that is incurable and has decided she wants to end her life with dignity with a medically assisted suicide.

We can debate whether or not medically assisted suicide is ethical or whatever, but Canada is not out there deciding to euthanize autistic people "just because". This is a person living their life independently, who has their mental faculties, making a conscious decision to end their life. It's very sad all around, but trying to hold this up as some sort of "CANADIANS SOCIALISTS WANT TO ERADICATE UNDESIRABLES, NEWS AT 11!!" kind of story is ridiculous.

Basically she got approval from two out of three doctors (two doctors must sign off) for the procedure, while the father thinks her issues are all in her head.

She was diagnosed autistic in 2016, so she was 19. Definitely high-functioning.

She has bodily autonomy.
