July 8, 20205 yr Fun cop story my buddy just told me: Call comes in through the radio that a black man is flashing his genitals to passing cars near our old high school. He arrives and finds the guy, says the dude was clearly not all there mentally and his pants were too large, causing them to fall down. So he helps the dude, gives him a zip tie to help him secure his pants. Two other cops show up and also help him out with zip ties. While this is going on a lady walks up to them filming. So he goes over to her to ask if she was the one to call it in. The lady starts asking why they are harassing him, when he explains the situation, she asks why it takes three of them to do that. When he's walking away, a 20-something pulls up in her car and yells at them to get their hands off the guy. He again has to explain the situation. Later he finds out that the 20-something filed a complaint against them. His sergeant said she calmed down a little when he told her the man wasn't arrested. Meanwhile, my buddy assisted the guy with his pants and gave him a ride to the local bus station. I feel like this pretty much sums up police/public relations at the moment.
