This is why I said I am not a Rob Thompson supporter but if you fire him and replace him thn your bigger issue still exists. Dave Dombrowski has wasted a ton of money in FA since 2023. with the money that John Middleton has given Dave Dombrowski this team should be significantly better. They are top 5 in payroll and they have the same issues every year in the playoffs. A shakey bullpen outside of 2 maybe 3 arms and a lineup that has needed a middle of the order guy to protect harper since Rhys went down.

The sad reality is he spent so much money on these contracts since 2023 that most are not good contracts that now Middleton/the Phillies don’t have as much money to give him to rectify those situations. So now you’re having to go bargain bin hunting, and hoping guys bounce back to what they were two or three years ago. The reality is Dombrowski has been given more money to spend then any other Phillies GM in history and he’s done a poor job in FA outside of schwarber, strahm and maybe one other guy I’m probably missing

Dombrowski Fing sucks. One and done FA signings and bringing the rest of em back every year. This man is a joke and cheap as hell. Not going through 162 more games of his nonsense

It's the same cycle every year. Fall short, don't do what's necessary to fix your biggest weaknesses, rinse and repeat. Enough of Dombrowski already. There has never been a more overrated GM in the history of this city. He's killed any excitement I have for the team.

Once Harper and Turner are gone, along with Schawarber, they build up the farm, I would say a new window opens in about 12 years

Unless Crawford turns out to be a plus outfielder this season, which is unlikely given his age and never playing a MLB inning (which was stupid of the Phillies last season), the OF is going to be a disaster. I wouldn’t be surprised if Rojas is in the roster as this point given the lack of depth.

LF: Marsh/Kemp

CF: Crawford/Rojas

RF: Garcia/Rojas

That’s a bottom 5-10 outfield.

Another issue is Crawford is a better LF than a CF. He may be better than marsh in CF but bader is light years better than both defensively. I guarantee Rojas is here. He might actually wind up platooning with marsh if Phillies deal Bohm and use kemp at 3rd.

But this all goes back to since 2023. The Phillies have spent poorly. And ran up their payroll to a point they don’t wanna go past. I said earlier in the off-season they have enough even if they signed Schwarber, Jt to extensions to make one semi big splash due to money coming off in 2027. That looks like it’s gonna be that Japanese pitcher cause I wanna get into that market. The issue is you still have the same lineup problem you had before because Garcia is essentially Castellanos at this point in his career so really you haven’t fixed anything with your lineup and frankly I could argue with actually worse because you’re essentially getting Garcia, who’s Castellanos and Crawford who’s never hit in the major leagues and you still don’t have a platoon with marsh.
