managers can only do so much if you dont have alot to work with especially with the starters and bullpen. i mean if we had three or four good pitchers, i dont think joe would have a difficult time with this roster.

like i said this team isnt good enough, that's the harsh reality right now.

Well they got shut out. Can’t blame the pitching staff for that.

Pathetic. Please just put them out of their misery.

Wouldn't surprise me if ATL swept ARI (2nd worst team in MLB) and we get swept by BTL (the worst team in MLB), thus just like we did earlier in the season when we got swept by ARI, who at the time was the worst team and then leapfrogged BTL to make them the worst team, this time we'll return the favour to BTL so they can leapfrog ARI.  Because we're so generous like that.

Now why does this give me deja vu?  A team's D does well enough to win, but their O takes a big steaming dump so they end up losing.

I just popped in here to make sure you aren't cheating on us and putting in the good the bad and the ugly in here.....

Do they have one more mini tease left in them or are we now finally done for this year?

You won't see  me defending this team often but this statement is ridiculous

you are telling me keeping gabe will turn this team around? ok, bring in a third manager and if the same problems that happened with gabe and joe, bad bullpen, bad pitching, inconsistent hitting, are you still going to fault the manager? when are the players at fault? they are ones getting paid and none of them havent won jack from previous teams which is probably why they are a bad team, the managers just manage the players, they dont tell them to hit a certain way or pitch a certain way. they are not coaches. in the mlb, it's 100 percent on the players if they want to win. they dont.

this team needs players that know how to win and we have none of that.

It's not that hard. They are 3 games back in a terrible division, and they have 32 blown saves. The failure to address the bullpen is downright criminal.

Yes, JT has been disappointing. Rhys is streaky (and now gone). Bohm was an abortion. But just get adequate relief pitching and you're in the playoffs. Instead, we're going to get peak Harper and manage to finish 2nd in a terrible division to a team that lost its whole outfield.

You said "the rest of the rotation is garbage"

This statement is ridiculous, did you not see the highlighted part?

Is it though?  The only pitcher other than Wheeler who hasn't been a massive disappointment is Suarez.  Nola is junk, Eflin can't stay healthy and was on the downhill this season before he got hurt, Moore is trash, Vinny was DFA, and Gibson's ERA since joining the Phils is almost 5.  Oh and there was Chase Anderson too, LOL.

The problem is the bullpen and inconsistent hitting

The problems are across the board

This, point blank.

Talent is devoid on the field, in the minor league and in the scouting/development departments.

Middleton is the worst owner in Philadelphia. How he’s allowed this to go on for a decade is unfathomable.

Is he like Lurie in that he's been too meddlesome and hands on when he really doesn't know what he's doing or he's just been hiring the wrong FO people?  Either way, yeah, this team is devoid of talent across all levels.  They should hire whoever they can from TB, STL, ATL as those organizations seem to have some of the best track records for having a nose for finding young talent and then developing it.

Didn't they bring up Adonis Medina?

Isn't he a starter?

Yeah...... We definitely could have used this last week....

Phils win in 10 innings

Yippee am I supposed to be excited? They almost lost two in a row to the worst team in baseball. They had one run of offense total in 18 innings against the worst team in baseball.

I don't care - I like watching games that matter in September.

So Wheeler vs a guy with a 2-10 record and an ERA near 7.00.  They lose this game and they should just quit and go golfing.

What a joyless slog this is.

Not going to matter. The Braves are gonna sweep the dbacks and the Padres are in free fall. 4 back in the loss column even if it’s that when we get to the Braves series and sweep atlanta we are still 1 back in the loss colum. And then have to play the marlins who the Phillies make look like world beaters

JT off today - not sure why he needs the rest, he's pretty much taken off the entire second half of the season
