I don’t understand why we have to have Munoz, vierling and sosa all playing. Why not use stott who’s young and hot coming in this game? I understand 2 of the 3 due to injury but all 3 is just asking to get shutout by the guy that did it just 7 days ago

He may bat .750 the rest of the way when he comes back. He’s the man.

We need him. Not just due to his hitting but he makes guys around him in the lineup more dangerous. I really think we make the playoffs as long as no one else goes down. His presence in the lineup is gonna be big especially cause we have a relatively easy schedule the next 3 weeks so he should get into a good groove and rhythm

Being no hit and we haven’t scored a run against lodolo in 12 innings of his two starts

vierling with an odubel type F up.

If vierling could catch a Fing baseball it’s only 1-0 right now

Yeah he’s the reigning mvp. We most definitely need him.

Vierling sucks. I can’t stand him. He’s like the new John Mayberry Jr. just a mediocre guy, a player who never plays on a good team, just there to constantly remind me that the Phillies are average.

The guy stinks. His defense is way overrated.

Yeah that should have been an error, the official scoring in baseball needs an overhaul

I can’t believe he dropped that. It’s literally an odubel type play. Killed Suarez and that inning. Thankfully relamuto and bohm came through.

Easily should’ve been an error. I’m surprised the official scorer didn’t rule it that to help out Suarez. That wasn’t a hard play. Just misplayed it when he got there.

Hoskins being a terrible first baseman is costing us again.

Sosa primarily Fed that play up but Hoskins can’t scoop up a ball in the dirt to save his life. Zimmer is also a complete waste of space in the outfield.

Stott!!!

Should’ve been playing all night. He’s young. No reason he needs an off day especially this hot

Let’s gooooo

I refuse to get excited about a Phillies prospect just about until they win an MVP or Cy Young award.  The better they look, the worse they turn out.

But Painter...jeez.  It's amazing how nobody can touch his stuff.

I hate to mention it in the same post, but the Tommy John epidemic (and it is an epidemic), is just fascinating.  There is decent data that higher use young pitchers are at higher risk, but the incidence is just exploding.  Young pitchers that throw hard throw fewer innings, enjoy less longevity, less sustained year-over-year velocity than in prior generations...despite increasing bubble wrap.

Don’t want him playing the field with his elbow. He needs TJ. thankfully new technique and not being a pitcher he could be ready by start of 2023 having it in October

One good thing - I saw Marsh jumping around in the outfield with the rest of the group when Maton hit the single to win it, so his ankle must be feeling fine.  He should be back when his IL stint is up.

Sounds like Marsh could be back shortly after his IL time is up (as soon as Friday):

They can’t drop Hans Zimmer fast enough.

I wonder if they drop Munoz and keep zimmer as they can do late game defensive replacement in the outfield where zimmer is better than Munoz in the outfield.

Schwarber needs to be moved from lead off spot

Yup. It should be stott. He’s been phenomenal the last couple months.

Set up perfectly to gain some ground again tonight with the Padres losing and Brewers playing the Dodgers.  Going against a guy with a 13 ERA.  Can’t wait to see how they mess it up
