Usually how you earn it is by playing 162 games and having at least the third best record after the division winners.

and brewers have to lose to the dbacks too. if brewers sweep the dbacks and phillies lose all three, they are not going in the playoffs.

actually it's you that's going to be miserable next year when they bring everyone back and you are going to be watching bad baseball again, so i really hope that getting embarrassed in the playoffs is worth it because not going to the playoffs will change everything.
