October 22, 20223 yr It was nice to wake up to a win! I couldn't stay up last night I had a long work day, and I'll probably miss the next 2 games also

He hasn’t really pitched since the nationals series at the end of September. He pitched an inning against houston the last day of the season on October 5th but that’s the last time. So he really hasn’t built up his stamina in a while to go very deep into a game. also the analytics point to the second time through the order falter tends to have more issues. Lastly they are gonna piggy back syndergaard. I’m guessing he goes one time through the order. Ideally you get through 5+ with both giving up minimal runs. i have a feeling we see the Phillies put up a bunch of runs tomorrow. I just have a hunch it’s going to be similar to game 4 WS in 08 where they had joe Blanton pitching and they went off. I’m not sure if the Phillies pitchers keep the padres off the board but i just have a feeling the Phillies are gonna score runs later today.

The roster is flawed. Harper was out for most of the year. The annual September swoon was in full bloom. And yet, they won yesterday and are two games away from the WS. Yesterday's moves were brilliant. I ride with Philly Rob.

It would be really nice to dial up one of those 5 HR 11 run explosions from the Phillies bats, like game 4 of the 2008 WS. He will most likely only go through the line up one time. 0-3 innings.
October 22, 20223 yr 6 hours ago, SkippyX said: It depends on how he looks. He was really good in his last start. His ERA is 3.00 in 8 starts since August. That's 9 runs total in 7 of those starts and one 6 run shellacking from Atlanta. He will most likely only go through the line up one time regardless of how he looks. Whether we agree with him or not, Thompson is big on not exposing pitchers too much. It is why he took ranger out when he did.
October 22, 20223 yr Clevinger has a 5.5 ERA on the road. Phillies are set up really well to take advantage assuming Falter/bullpen doesn’t implode

Yes, I loved the moves yesterday as well. However, if the bullpen ends up being the key in 3 losses over the next 4 those moves yesterday will be questioned. Not by me though.

It means I can watch without having to be up in the middle of the night and then trying to get into work on Monday.

October 22, 20223 yr Another reason Suarez likely pulled besides the analytics of third time through is that game 7 is Tuesday. Which means he’d be on short rest so I’m guessing part of their thinking was that potentially on the horizon
October 22, 20223 yr I still can’t believe that this team is 2 wins away from being in the World Series. What a post season run!

October 22, 20223 yr We already took one from them in San Diego - we can do it again if we need to. Playing at the Bank is probably the best home field advantage left in the playoffs. We took whatever momentum they had going last night. Keep the bats hot, play loose, clean up some of the dumb-Fery, even if we go back to San Diego needing one more game we'd be in a great spot.
