November 4, 20223 yr Author Hoskins and Castellanos need to be gone after this season. Absolutely disgusting performance by both of them.
November 4, 20223 yr It's going to 7 like I thought, just not the way I thought. Need to give Ranger a shot.
November 4, 20223 yr You guys are being too hard on players. Truth is we had no business being this far. We got hot at the right time but we're playing a team that is overall much more talented than ours. Just give the Astros credit where it's due without pissing all over our guys. Jeez, at least let's lose gracefully and with humility.

Third, shut the freak up. Hoskins is dog crap.

I'm sure you've never made one though, Mr. Perfect.

Someone has to lose. I agree that it sucks. We're just not as good as the Astros. We knew that going into this.

November 4, 20223 yr Sucks that they probably won’t finish this run off but hard to be too mad about it. Hell of a run. Offense went cold at a bad time but it happens. Make a couple moves and hopefully they’ll be back here next season. Hoskins really does need to go though.

I've just seen the movie too many times as a Phillies fan. Yeah, they got there a year early, but that doesn't change how much we love them and die inside when they lose.

It's 20 min after a heartbreaking loss in Philly, so one of many overreactions coming. No, I don't think Thomson should go, but he should get a ton of crap for basically doing nothing to get his team going when they were something like 0-20 with RSP. Throw down a freaking bunt to get runners on. Mix up the lineup to start the game moving NC down. Tell RH not to F'ing swing at the first pitch after he just walked 2 because we all knew he was hacking at it. He shouldn't have risked another inning with Thor either. They got lucky after the first run. Take the 3 he gave you and call it good. What makes him a good coach is being even and calm....but sometimes you need to make moves and he didn't do crap tonight.

Wheeler with more rest. Let’s go.

Jeez, at least let's lose gracefully and with humilty. No offense castellanos as been bad all yea r hitting and his approach at the plate as been atrocious for a while now. Even stott and bohm who are basically a rookie and a guy in his first full season were able to get going and figure it out which tell me it’s not the coaching. Castellanos hasn’t. As for hoskins I’m less irritated with his hitting and more irritated on routine Fing plays at first. average fielding first basemen make the plays he’s not. That’s the second time in two series he’s had a ball hit to him like that where he Fed it up. I’m not asking him to be a gold glover. I’m asking him to make the routine plays at first. How many times has he Fed up a routine play at first this postseason? at least 3 by my count and they’ve all killed the Phillies. So he was not a good fielder in the OF and he stinks over at first. Stinks putting it lightly the analytics say he’s arguably the worst fielding first baseman in the league.

November 4, 20223 yr Author Game 6 should go... Segura JT Harper Schwarber Hoskins Bohm Stott Castellanos Marsh

Segura JT Harper Schwarber Hoskins Bohm Stott Castellanos Marsh Stott is likely not starting as it’s Valdez who’s a left so you are likely getting sosa and vierling. With that I’d probably go schwarber rhys (besides game one he’s actually been better than realmuto who’s 1-17 with 11 Ks in games 2-5) Harper realmuto bohm segura Castellanos Vierling sosa They need some sort of change in the lineup to spark them.

If they are going mess with the first 4 they have to move up bohm to 5 hole. He’s 5-18 for the series which is .278 average and has a .350 OBP. Right now castellanos is 3-20 (.150) with an OBP of .190. That’s awful. Only stott has been worse at 0-13 but his OBP is better at .235
November 4, 20223 yr 3 minutes ago, therealdawk said: Nick has FOUR more years on his deal. Is that contract really movable right now? No unless you are willing to eat a lot of that money or willing to take back a bad contract for him. He’s here next year. hoskins is another story all together. His arbitration runs out in 2023 and he’ll be 31. I’m not paying him at that age due to horrible fielding and inconsistent hitting. However they need to find a 1B if they do that. Can move bohm to first or maybe move schwarber to 1b and then go sign another power bat outfielder that’s a better fielder or trade for a 3b which is gonna be tough.
November 4, 20223 yr I hate to tell people calling on the radio saying the Phillies beat the Astros in the last 2 games in 1980 but that has no impact on this series, the talent level between the 2 teams was not as big as this year.
November 4, 20223 yr Well, out of all the post season losses, last night was the most disappointing....they have come up so big with 2 out hits, they couldn't come up with one last night. I think there are still men on base sitting at Citizens Bank right now.
November 4, 20223 yr Killer, just killer. Agree with everything y'all wrote. Too many men left on, can't make contact with the ball when it's your season on the line. Hoskins and Castellanos suck. Don't foresee them making any lineup changes in Houston, so this is over in 6. Sure was fun though!
