In all honesty, the Phillies did better than could reasonably be expected by winning 2 games. No one else even took 1 from the Asstros this post season. That said, they’re not called the Fighting Phillies for nothing, and it wouldn’t completely surprise me if they took a 3rd game. And if’n they do…..

The pitching staff is a disaster right now. It would take a miracle to win game 6

They were mostly fine last night. If Hoskins and Marsh could field the freaking ball at an MLB level they win that game 3-1. The biggest issue is the 2 and 5 spots of the lineup. They should honestly be told to go up there and not to swing at anything.

If Wheeler is healthy they can definitely win tomorrow night.  But if he comes out throwing in the low 90s again then we’re in trouble.

I would think Ranger is an option in game 6 because they have to win just to stay alive.   Then on Sunday let Nola pitch a couple innings before you bring in Kyle Gibson.

No he will come out throwing hard then in the 3rd inning low 90s

Agree it comes down to more than velocity, but he needs to have control AND velocity to shut down the Astros IMHO

Need a little Philly magic.

I can’t believe I’m saying this cause i ragged on him for a good month and a half, but they really should go to brogdon. He can give you 2-3 innings. He’s been phenomenal in his last 6 appearances. He’s pitched 8.1 innings and has given up 0 ERs.

If they win tomorrow night using Wheeler and Ranger and Game 7 ends up being a bullpen game I’m gonna lose it.  Lol

It would be in Phillies fashion this year for that to happen. What worries me about that article with Wheeler is them saying it’s not just about velocity but location. It feels as though they know he’s not gonna be what he has been all year so he’s gonna have to rely even more on his more control and more location. When he says time will tell it makes me say they have no clue how much they are gonna get out of him tomorrow. I’m guessing they anre only expecting to get 3 to 4 innings out of him because that’s what they believe is the most they’re gonna be able to get with him being affective.

Yeah, this is like when the Phillies used Pedro Martinez in Game 6 in 2009.  Not great…

Sorry, maybe Tough fighter is wearing off on me because I can feel the Negadelphia creeping in.

What worries me is they can't hit crap with runners in scoring position and I'm not sure they can get 1 run against the guy pitching tomorrow. The ride is over, which is sad, but nice in a way because we can just enjoy watching them in the World Series for one more game. It may not happen again for a while.

I hate how accurate this sounds.

yeah and hopefully the management sees that too and not use making the playoffs/world series an excuse to not make changes.

It wouldn’t be Philly sports if they didn’t give us one last bit of hope to dash. They’ll win tonight somehow.

I mean we haven’t had a Joe Carter or flyers game 6 in the cup finals in 2010 overtime ending goal type play happen in a while against us.

Agreed.  We’re due.  Lol

It's over. Sad but inevitable with being so outclassed. They may not even score tonight against the guy wiping stuff on the ball. We just watch them one more time and hope they can get back again.

Lol stop…they aren’t cheating.  They are just better

I’m a Yankees fan Phillies fans and what I see the let’s few days is they are in the approach just like the Yankees are which is the home run ball or bust instead of keeping it simple and putting the ball in play. Good things happen when you put the ball in play.
