The Scott Kingery contract is probably a death knell to any future personnel decision making role in a front office.

Yup. I believe he's still on the books for $8 million next year.

Rodon signs with the Yanks. $162m/6 years, $27m AAV.

I don’t think we’re re-signing Nola for less… SP FA crop in 2024 is also pretty much ass.

Probably not. Nola is gonna be the same age as rodon. I’m guessing it’s somewhere close to what rodon got. I still don’t rule out a major move at the deadline or next offseason for a pitcher like Bieber who could be available

Anyone else think Rodon is a bit of a risk at that type of money? I know he has been good the last two years, but prior to that he had a 4.00+ ERA every year from 2016-2020. I always get nervous when a guy seems to go from mediocre to great for a season or two. Never know if he has actually figured things out for good, or if he’s more likely to go back to what he was through most of his career.

Yeah, I would have offered him 4 years max. Good for him for getting 6. He also had the QO attached to him which is why the Phillies probably didn't go near him.

Apparently why the padres been trying to get a big name cause he’s opting out and likely leaving.

Swanson signs with the Cubs- 7/177. Didn't see that one coming. I thought for sure he would've re-signed with the Braves. I do find it ironic that him and Freeman have the same agent.

Too bad for Braves fans. Oh wait, no it isn't.

That's on top of signing Verlander to a two-year deal.

Mets are going to crash hand burn as always

honestly, paying $100 mil in luxury tax is kind of dumb.

It's higher than they payrolls of like 8 teams.

That's a lot to pay and still be done in September.

Are you surprised?  They're still paying Bobby Bonilla

That's one of my favorite holidays.

I laugh every time I hear that. I think they still owe him for another ten years. The guy hit the lottery and took the annual payout for life.

Next year's familia <_<

6ers just made a gigantic comeback to take the lead against the Clippers

This one was a decent watch.

Big comeback.

Embiid over 40.

Harden ties single game franchise assist record with 21. A rebound away from a big triple double.

Melton with 3 steals. Good overall team defense. Nice rotations closing out on shooters.

Milton 13 off the bench.

You’ve got me checking which thread I’m in.  Agree on the game, especially the D but not sure all the Phillies fans care.
