They had the game where they wanted it. Up 1-0, men on 1st and 2nd for Harper and he whiffs. Big time lost opportunity

After an off day why the F is Hoffman the first relief pitcher we use in the 7th. Why not use soto or Alvarado to keep it at 1

I'm tired of the mind numbing stupid decisions by Thomson. From his lineup decisions to his bp decisions, there seems to be no rhyme or reason to any of it.

This goes with the stupid Bryce Harper decisions. With a day off the next day, they sit him. He doesn’t need two days off. And then he did the same thing earlier this season where he had an off day then sat again. You don’t have the luxury of making these dumb decisions since you got yourself into a hole and there’s way better teams in competition for the wildcard this year.

Do managers really manage the team anymore or does the analytics department?

Analytics dept. Manager anymore is just a puppet.

Lol, why the ef is Schwarber bunting? He's slower than my mother. Wow.

Thomson blew the game by putting Hoffman in there. You had a fully rested BP, and you throw a slop AAA reliever in against the Braves? Mind bogglingly stupid.

Yup, this season is over. This one random game in June is all I need as proof.

No one is saying it’s over. But they’re going to be more teams involved and frankly NL is deeper this year than it was last year. The only teams the Phillies had to worry about last year from august onward was the Milwaukee Brewers and padres (were 2 spots open not one. really last couple weeks it was just Milwaukee and we were fortunate Milwaukee crashed and burned worse than the Phillies in September). I tend to think the winner of that last wild card is going to be 12-14 games over .500. The nats really assisted the Phillies in getting to that number last year

The change in schedule this year is gonna make a difference for a lot of teams. Less divisional games for teams. Particularly the Phillies also don’t have get to face the nationals 19 times this year. Only get them 13 times. The phillies beat up on them for 16 wins last year. Was 18.4% of their overall wins. Add on the phillies were good against the marlins last year. Marlins are good and before last year always gave the Phillies fits. I think the task is going to be tougher to make it with the amount of teams involved and if nola is up and down and their 5th spot in the rotation doesn’t pitch better. so giving games away with just poor decisions could very well be the difference between being in and out at the end of the year.

what makes you think this team is a world series contender? there are the reasons why we werent ranked high before the season started because of our pitching, nola, wheeler inconsistent, bullpen inconsistent, you have to fix those problems for this team to be a contender by getting rid of hitters like jt and nick who stink, i dont care what stats they are putting up right now, it's what they are, they are not stars.

we are not making the world series until we get legitimate aces on this roster and a manager that has a brain. if not, it's going to be what it is for a long time until they do.

Did you just wake up from a coma?  Hope you're doing better, sorry you missed the postseason fun from last October.....

Please show me where I said the Phillies were a "world series contender"?

Tbh there’s likely 2 reasons they are not. First nola not pitching like he did last year. He will be good for like 3-4 innings of his starts and then implode in the 1-2 other innings. They need him to be no. 2 especially in the postseason to get back. Not sure he isn’t having a 2009 hamels type year. Second they miss Hoskins power and ability to get hot to carry them in some games. A lot of us gave hoskins crap because he’s a bad fielder. but they are definite times in the season where guys just don’t hit and struggling with RISP but hoskins is hitting 4-5 bombs that week that carries them. Last night felt like a game where that made have happened

I’d argue if the Phillies get another reliable BP then their BP is tailor made for the postseason.

i think they can fix one of the nola or missing hoskins issue. Can go all in and get a guy like a Shane Bieber which means nola is definitely gone in 2024 or make a trade for a big time bat. Have a feeling the bat may be the way they go cause it may not be nearly as costly and just hope nola figures it out

Things fell into place last year in the playoffs, especially that first game where the Cards imploded, they lose that game they don't make it out of the first round

This is not Nola weather, he will fold like a  cheap suit

I wonder if Ricky Bo is hittin that

it's called reality and im not living in the past, im living right now, im seeing the problems after they lost the world series, you clearly dont want to see it.

you know what was fun? The first five games of the last road trip where the offense actually hit baseballs

Marte is pitching - Braves will definitely win

 That didn't take long

Schwartastic !

lololololol

They just aren't on the same level as Atlanta - sad to say

As much as Marte sucks and Schwarber sucks in the field, if you don’t score any runs, you can’t win.
