Yeah don't use Alverado or Soto, use the stiff Marte. Should have just kept Sanchez in the game. It's not like that last hit he gave up was a laser. Just a seeing eye single.

Yep. The only reason why Sanchez was removed from this game was because he was gonna go through the order a third time. He was at 75 pitches and finally settled into where he retired 8 batters in a row til the Nimmo hit. If you’re going to go to the **** ass pitcher marte then you might as well let Sanchez just stay in there and see if he gets into more trouble. Because marte is definitely going to get into trouble so just hope sanchez continues to cruise.

Sanchez had retired 8 in a row since nimmo’s RBI single to nimm’s last hit and at 75 pitches. This is 100% Thomson with the Fing analytics claiming 3rd time through. That’s a great argument if you’re actually going to use good pitchers after him. Using marte is basically like having a pitcher pitch the third time through because he’s Fing awful.

So Bohm is following the Franco trajectory. Not good. To be honest, I think Franco was a better fielder.

Tbh i wish the Phillies would just leave him at 3rd base and either put harper at 1b or go get a 1b better than Clemens or having sosa start at 3b with bohm. Hoskins had other issues but the year he moved to outfield he said it weighed on him.

Harper needs to do something

He's sucked with guys on base this year.

Yeah hitting .186 with RISP

This offense blows. More amazing schwarber has 20 homers. Yet a -0.6 WAR. You know how hard it is to have that many homers but yet a negative WAR? Can’t be many that have ever done that

Giants and marlins continue to win…4 games out and falling fast

I tend to think the padres eventually pass the Phillies. The padres haven’t been good all year yet sit 2 games behind the Phillies. At some point i think they get hot. So even if one of the giants and marlins flounder there’s still a chance the brewers or padres pass the Phillies.

This is why I said about a month ago The national league is better this year than it was last year. There’s going to be about 7 teams competing for 3 wild card spots. Which means there’s not gonna be as many sellers as they’re buyers at the deadline. The teams you are looking at the deadline who could make trades are likely the Oakland A’s, Kansas City Royals, the Pittsburgh Pirates, cardinals (they aren’t getting goldschmidt), nats, Rockies, tigers, white Sox that are definitive sellers. The rest of the teams are likely going to be in the race.

the Phillies badly need either a RH OF or 1B with power. Not sure where they get that from as i think goldschmidt is a pipe dream

They need to sell

Least shocking thing ever

Curious to see what his stats are at the end of the year. He’s played 26 games so I’m guessing there’s adjustment is coming from pitchers and he’ll have to also adjust. Prior to last night’s ass whopping of the Rockies, in June he was hitting .257 with a .297 OBP. The angels rocking the Rockies and him going 5-5 vaulted his June averages back to .350 and .395

So hoagiefest started on the 19th and since schwarber is 2-18 with a walk and 0 HRs. Also 0 for his last 15 with a walk. That’s a .000 avg and a .063 OBP

Would be a really good time for harper to improve upon his .182 avg with RISP

well that works. Would be nice if realmuto hit a grand slam or did something and improved upon his .185 avg with RISP.

And of course, Realmuto strikes out on 4 pitches that were nowhere close to the zone and Carrasco hasn’t been close to the zone in three batters now.

Fn horrible at bat by JT. My 9 year old daughter has better discipline than that.

What makes it even worse is that Carrasco through four consecutive balls completely out of the zone to Harper. And then go to the four pitched to Jt realmuto werent close to the zone. And then the next 3 pitched after JT Realmuto at bat were nowhere close to the zone. So he was struggling with his control. But Jt realmuto bailed out Carrasco by swinging at everything and changed the entire inning.

Yup, it was hard to watch. JT just couldn't help but swing no matter how far out of the zone every pitch was. He Fin sucks.

They are basically screwed at catcher if this is his decline starting. They dealt away O’hoppe and really don’t have one in the farm system that’s close to readybor considered a high end prospect. They likely should take and develop one high in the draft.

Predictable. The Phillies can’t bust it open with bases loaded 1 out. Following inning giving up a run and wheeler implodes with two outs.
